So what if it's printed in black and white!?
Yes, this book is surprisingly printed in black and white but it doesn't change what's been written. If you really want to see the pictures then look them up online. I've found the writing incredibly useful as an entry point to the subject. It gives you a run down of the main artists and how their work links to the subject. The book references other artworks and artists etc which you can then investigate yourself.

Disappointing
Sadly there are few books available on the Colourfield painters as an art movement, excepting monographs and catalogues on the better known artists.Whilst this is a welcome addition, the definitive history is still waiting to be written. This is a competently written introduction, but no more and the pictures are all in black and white, which bearing in mind the subject matter,is frustrating enough, without the quality of the reproduction and printing, which is also very poor.If I had paid full price for this book, I would have felt cheated...

Colourfield Painting - IN BLACK AND WHITE?
Never seen such a rip off in my life. A book on colourfield painting with the illustrations in black and white????? There not even good black and white prints. Clearly photocopies of photocopies of something that might remotely look like the painting being discussed. Seriously?? Extraordinary. I don't normally write product reviews, but I really felt the need to say something about this. AVOID.

Avoid purchasing, not even worth the one star it takes to rate ot
Very poor quality black and white representations of Art that is supposedly to be colourful. Even the paper it is printed on is substandard.
