Loud enough for those with hearing impairment. Wish they provided quality headphones as aftermarket headphones leave much to be desired. Text to voice announcements is appalling. CH is read as K which is acceptable for Christopher. Totally fails when trying to say Charles.

The one I purchased was returned cause my dad wanted the ability to hear it from outside while in the garden. This phone is amazing though. I was intrigued by all the features it offers.

Panasonic lives up to its reputation for high quality and 5 stars in 3 categories is well earned.

Junk. I bought this as a gift for an elderly person and they complained that half of the time when they picked up the receiver to answer an incoming call, the phone would go dead and they'd miss the call and when they put it back on the base it indicated it was fully charged. I have to admit I did not believe that. I finally traveled a distance and brought the phone back to my place, sure enough they were right and in fact it wasn't half the time that it malfunctioned, it was more like 90% of the time. Contacted Panasonic and of course got anything but a real person to talk to. Too late to return it on Amazon. The thing works great, when it works, which is like 10% of the time.

We liked the volume boost feature. A lot of the control labeling is not clear for old people. My mother keeps turning off the answering machine.
