This works fine on my umbrella. Kinda thin but I made it fit 😂 so now it's all good. It doesnt really have a good grip. Sometimes it slips but i guys still works better than without it.

Needed a replacement tip in a hurry as one turned up missing, the hard points are pretty much useless in the Appalachians. Had a hard time finding some I thought would fit, took a chance on these figuring the extra length would help. Slipped on tight, better than the tips that my poles came with. Showing little wear after a couple thousand feet up and a couple thousand feet down on a "strenuous" trail with a +/-40lb backpack, lots of rocks. My arms are more sore than my legs so they were used hard. I expect them to wear, if they didn't they'd be too hard to trust on hard surfaces.

This will work for me but they are not 1.7 inches tall. I measured it with a micrometer 1.56 inches. I'll keep them but they not as described.

I used a walking pole as a cane before and after a knee surgery. The tip that comes with it slips and wears out quickly. These tips are rugged, they don't slip and they wear well. Get these for use on the street.
