Absolutely Awesome and Amazingly Fresh Coffee... Worth It!
I did not know what to expect. Yes yes, I read the reviews and most were awesome but still everyones tastes are different, and their opinion of coffee is different. Coffee like a fine wine or a well aged bourbon has both the bold in your face flavors, aromas and textures. But also like fine wines and bourbons, coffee has a subtle side, and that can make or break a coffee. The Peaberry has a wonderful aroma out of the bag, it is robust but not overpowering to the nose. It has the small beans that you would expect to find and they have the beautiful crack in them from the roasting process with that light sliver in the middle of the crack. They grind well and they produce a new aroma that envelopes the space as the grinder turns humble beans into a fashion of greatness. For my brewing experience I used a traditional drip coffee maker. Because I prefer a robust and hearty coffee I used a two more tablespoons of grounds than required or suggested. However the result was nothing less that coffee bliss. The initial texture on the tongue is velvet and smooth. The flavor is light but complex with subtle hints of chocolate and toffee. There is little bitter flavor on the end. I purchased this looking for a decent coffee for the office to buy in bulk as we go through lots of coffee. However I also have several coffee... snobs... they are self proclaimed coffee snobs. So I wanted something that would both be good to their tastebuds while gentle to their wallets. I was hoping for a decent showing with this brand and variety. Something kin to the flavors and consistency of the mass produced Starbucks or something similar. What I received was nothing if not light-years better than the standard Starbucks coffee. This is a find, a great and worthy find. I have also purchased a two pound bag of the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and I am excited for that as I am to have my next cup of the pea berry. The next bag I purchase will be five pounds to keep the snobs well supplied with coffee that keeps them happy and content. No torches and pitchforks in this office over subpar coffee choices.

Great Flavor!
I love this coffee! I used to buy the pods, but switched to the beans to try and getaway from the plastic.

It’ll do for now.
Pretty good coffee, Tanzanian Peaberry getting harder to find and it’s my favorite. This is far from the best I’ve had, seemed relatively fresh, though I didn’t see a date anywhere on the package. I prefer this bean from Good as Gold or Stone Street when available.

Hands-down one of the best coffees I've gotten on Amazon (and trust me
Hands-down one of the best coffees I've gotten on Amazon (and trust me, there's been many). You can tell upon opening that the coffee is very fresh, as if it were made the day before, and the aroma is incredible. I use a hario pour over, since the flavor is very light and this extracts the flavors best. It almost tastes like tea at first, but has the nutty kick and coffee taste towards the end. If you want a significant caffeine trip, this is it. Peaberries have a lot more caffeine since they're whole beans that are roasted lightly to retain the oils and caffeine. I've gotten a better rush from this than Deathwish, which only makes this even better to drink (especially for the price). Overall, I'm very happy with this and will explore other flavors this brand offers because they did an incredible job so far.

This has steadily and surely become a favorite. UPDATE Fell Completely Flat - Recommend Purchasing Fresh Directly
Updates Below... Original Review: This has steadily and surely become a favorite. I tried it more than 2 years ago and it was most certainly *not* my favorite - it has an incredibly distintictive taste to it unlike most any other available. Incredibly smooth, but full body, medium roast with notes that shift around all over the place. I've grown to love it so much because it absolutely one of the most interesting coffees I've ever had. I would give it 5 stars if it were Fair or Direct Trade - that is my only reservation with these amazing beans. Easily in my top three. Update 5/10/2017: Still great. We've ordered this many times over the past couple years. Consistently good from Fresh Roasted CC. Some very odd "critical" reviews here on Amazon as usual. Peaberry is a very distinct type of bean that will certainly not appeal to everyone... that's fine, more for us. UPDATE 10/17/2017: Well, I finally received a bag that was as many reviewers here have reported: completely flat, flavorless and stale. Each bag we've received when ordering via Amazon in the past (and *especially* the many times we've ordered directly from FRC to try limited edition runs) has been roasted within a couple weeks at most of receipt, oftentimes only about a week. I thought I was crazy for the three brews we made with our most recent shipment, a 2lbs. bag ordered on Oct 14th and opened just 2 days ago - until I checked the roast date (the Julian Calendar numbered sticker at the bottom of each bag) and it read 214, which translates to August 2nd... or two and a half months ago. I don't understand -I have had a couple email conversations with FRC in the past and they seemed to pride themselves on roasting just before shipping. I guess that isn't the case any longer. This was one of my favorite roasts, but seeing as I cannot return this bag, not sure I'll order again. Huge disappointment. UPDATE 10/17/2017: FRC made this right. We'll purchase directly from them moving forward.
