Permatex Heavy Duty Radiator Cleaner removes rust and scale from automotive engines, radiators and water jackets. It also cleans and unclogs steam cleaner coils and boiler tubes. Not for use in aluminum radiators. Permatex does the job when it comes to specialty cleaners to dissolve rust, clean plastic or remove gum and deposits from parts. Permatex offers a complete line of professional strength cleaners and degreasers, each formulated to the highest standards and quality.

Review: Great Problem Solver - I had been experiencing overheating problems with my antique car to the extent that I could only drive for short distances. I had tried other products to clean the cooling system with little satisfaction. The Permatex Heavy Duty Radiator Cleaner was used and an amazing amount of "gunk" was flushed out of the system. I flushed the system several times with clear water and then installed a Gano Filter on the inlet hose (autocoolantfilter.com/). After 150 miles the Gano filter had trapped an unbelievable amount of debris that the cleaner had worked loose. My Model A Ford is now running cool and clean.

**Q: Does a 2002 Ford F-350 with a 7.3 liter Powerstroke have an aluminum radiator? Is this safe to use in a diesel system?**
A: Most radiators today are made of aluminum and plastic. Permatex 80030 is a strong acid cleaner. Suggest you not use it in a aluminum radiator.

**Q: Is it okay to use on a 1966 Chevy Caprice radiator original**
A: Yes. All radiators made during the 60's and into the 70's were made out of brass and copper. I have used Permatex 80030 in my all original 1970 Chevelle.

**Q: does this product remove scale on top of tubes**
A: What's Up John C!My appologies, but unfortunately, I never got a chance to use the product because it was rated to be unsafe to use on aluminum radiators and motors...with that said, I imagine it should be able to remove scale on the top of tubes(especially since, the acidity is capable of wearing away aluminum). I know this doesn't 'quite' answer your question, but that's my take. Again, I Appologize for not being more useful. Good Luck! ;)

A: yes you do have an aluminum radiator in that car. drain all coolant from vehicle. fill with water add a quarter cup of radiator cleaner. and run for 15 to 20 minutes. drain and repeat if necessary. flush radiator with water. and refill with 50:50 mixture of antifreeze
