Size:4" The Yost BV-4 4" bench vise is an all-purpose bench vise. A staple for any home workshop, no matter what your job is. Built for durability and dependability, this vise is constructed from 30, 000 PSI cast iron. The replaceable serrated jaws will prevent objects from moving around once you have clamped them in place. A large anvil on the back of the vise is perfect for forming and shaping metal pieces. The anvil is machined to provide a smooth work surface. The 120 degree swivel base allows this vise to be positioned in to clamp parts with ease. The dual lockdowns on the vise are designed to keep the vise in place once in position. The acme threaded main screw provides smooth operation.

One week past its return window to return a faulty product, the pot metal gives out
Not sure if it was because it didn't seem to keep from turning when I would clamp down on something I was working on gluing together (two pieces of steel to each other with silicone) and after just two knocks with a rubber mallet all of a sudden it no longer is gripping. The project I'm working on has to be finished in a few days and well... this was just the beginning.I first purchased this for my job and they mentioned that it must be at least $60 and that the turning pin seemed pretty strong, but that's not what crumbled and now I know why it's so cheap, it's some kind of pot metal. I'm guessing that once again, a lot of these reviews for these cheap Chinese products are fake. You've been warned!

Very happy with this vice for the price.
i like this vice. It installed onto my workbench easily and it's nice and tight. I use it to straighten bolts, hold things I'm cutting with my grinder, and occasionally for gluing wood together. I got a set of magnetic rubber jaw protectors which are working great for me. The anvil takes a pretty good bashing, too.

Try being realistic
This is actually my second purchase of this vise. I have one in my basement work shop and now this one is for the bench in my shed.Look, it’s a $25 vise that’s sadly made in Commieland. I hate that but I gotta be realistic. I just cannot justify spending $300 on something that I rarely use. For my infrequent use this will do. It will hold a mower blade for sharpening. It will hold a small project that I’m welding. It will act as a third set of hands when necessary. It will fail if you try to abuse it. Just know that up front and be realistic. You’ll be fine. For the price it’s a fairly decent vise. I would buy it again. Well, hell-I did. lolMade in China 🇨🇳UnfortunatelyI still have to recommendThanks for reading

Great home level diyer vise.
It's a basic swivel bench vise. It's not new, it's not exciting, but it was a good value for the money. In an unheated but fairly well sealed ( weatherstripping, good windows, etc) it's showing zero signs of corrosion. It's not slipping, it holds things, and it swivels. It is small, by no means a professional metal working vise, but to hold a bit of angle iron while you cut or grind it it works perfectly.

It's small but perfect for light duty use.
It's small, but it's perfect for what I need it for....small jobs! I have some small items I need to drill holes in and needed a vise to hold them and didn't want to spend a fortune so I went with this vise. It feels nice and heavy for such a small vise and the striking surface on the rear is actually pretty big! There is an adjustment lever on either side of the vise at the base and a standard lever at the end. There are also 4 bolt holes to mount it to a bench. All-in-all it's a decent vise for light duty use. However, I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty fabrication. Something like that, you are going to want to spend a bit more money and get something really, really good!

It is what it is... A cheap vice.
It is a vice. But I would recommend spending about double this amount to get a good quality vice. Would make good vice for gunsmithing or hobby. But applying a lot of torque to it... Forget about it. It slips, put a cheater pipe to snug the lock pins but still slips under heavy load. It gets the job done on the cheap, but if you need to do something heavy duty... Get a real vice.

Great vice for the money.
Great vice for the money. Worked for everything I wanted it to hold. It's a vice for a DIY guy to hold projects in and works fine for that. I read one review where the owner was trying to hold an axe or hammer handle while he pounded a wedge into it the handle and it broke the vice. A $35 vice isn't going to work for this. He needs a $150 vice. Everyone else will get a lot of use out of this vice.

Impressive for the price.
I was skeptical about buying this vise as comparable ones are $75+ Canadian. I needed something that was heavy enough to install some pistol sights as well as a good utility vise for my bench. I'm very pleased with this item and was pleasantly surprised by the quality.Let's face it, buying on Amazon is hit and miss. It is luck of the draw when it comes to the quality of a product meeting expectations. In this case it exceeded them. It is a very solid, well fit and high quality vise for the money.I whole heartedly recommend this product.

May be a bit on the small side.
OK for the price, smaller than expected but does the job. Had to trim the mounting tabs a bit in order to mount the vice close enough to the edge of the bench to allow for fixed jaw on vice to clear the bench edge. Also had to remove and reinstall the swivel base 180 degrees to fit my application, all easy to do.

Good value for $$$
Works great but still getting used to the spring underneath it. Not sure of its function but whenever you loosen or tighten it you can feel the resistance. Still a great product! Fastened it to my cheaply made 2x4 bench with 3 - 2.5” 9/16 headed bolts. Used lock washers on both top and bottom. Had to use a hammer to persuade bolts but they fit nice and snug. No movement whatsoever.

Good vise, but I exchanged it for a flat ...
Good vise, but I exchanged it for a flat woodworker's vise, which was better-suited to what I do. Wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if the need arose, it's well-made and does the job.

Skookum, Heavy, beefy, vice goodness
Man, this is one skookum vice. The anvil looks like the big hammer would have no affect on it. Every part of it feels heavy and tight. 10/10 would buy again
