I bought this specifically to shoot vertical video with the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM which does not have a tripod collar. On it's own, this lens is too fat to clear the mount and will not work, even with the included spacer. My solution is keep the camera in my SmallRig Black Mamba cage. The additional spacing between the camera and the quick release plate allows everything to rotate, albeit with slightly more weight. It also maintains access to ports on both sides of the cameras for cables to clear the tripod head. The additional space provided by a tether lock may also do the trick.

I really wsnted this to work! Good idea but only works with the “arca swiss”plate provided. If you do not use any other plates on your camera this may work for you. I do not want to screw the plate on my cage every time I want to use the tripod! It did not work with an RRS plate or with an actual arca-swiss plate. DOES NOT EVEN WORK WITH A SMALLRIG CAGE or a little Smallrig plate I own! It is s little fiddly, and might not be good for a very heavy camera/lens combo. Would have given a three except description led me to believe it works with arca-swiss.

I bought this kit intending to use it with a compact tripod that has a movable head but can't do vertical. The bracket works fine for this purpose, is made with good materials and inspire confidence using it even with heavier lenses. Although there is a major (for me) caveat that needs to be disclosed: The Arca style mount plate receiver has a movable pin that serves the purpose of latching with the special design plate. This prevents the use with any other plate than the one received with the bracket. Often, Working photographers have their own choice of arca plate and because of its "system", rely on compatibility. The damned pin prevents compatibility. Even with other SmallRig arca plates. If you can live switching plates all the time you need to use this bracket, oryou don't care, go for it. I really hope that Smallrig revises this bracket's receiver and lock to accommodate regular arca plates. It would be an instant-buy.

Works as describes. Great way to go from landscape to portrait view without removing camera from tripod. Instruction could be better

Does not work with the 3 Legged Thing Ellie or Roxie L Brackets , Sunwayfoto SP-70QB, Sunwayfoto SP-38QB, or my ReallyRightStuff L Brackets. Sad to say the Acra-Swiss isn't to standards.

È proprio quello che cercavo per la mia sony a7 si riesce a cambiare obbiettivo in maniera facile, inserisco il 10mm e non ho nessun problema. Unica cosa è che ingombra, ma una volta fatta la mano non ci si pensa più. Soddisfatto.

Los bueno es que se puede usar con cualquier objetivo al no estar cerrado. Lo malo es que no va suave, no se ajusta bien del todo y genera algo de movimiento. Ese movimiento es muy leve pero puede generar trepidaciones en entornos con algo de brisa o metidos en un río o mar. Así que, es caro para los contras que tiene, la ventaja no compensa. Llevo usándola varios meses en ríos y montañas. Con objetivos que van desde los 16 a los 400 mm con un cuerpo de cámara que pesa 910 gramos.
