Awesome!
Like you, it took awhile to figure out the commonality amongst my reactions and the symptoms they were causing, but because of resources like the ones you and others provide- the time it took to figure it out was much shorter and I was able to begin feeling better after a year of frightening health troubles. The most special thing about having this cookbook is knowing that I have this excellent resource with totally safe recipes for myself and family members to reference! I also love having all the easy to use lists and information- so much easier than all the cross referencing amongst various sources I had been doing to make sense of it all. I love to cook and initially felt overwhelmed by my limitations, but decided to focus on what I can have and this cookbook is just another step in doing so! Unity, sisters! Thankful for all your hard work in compiling this! Best, Nicole

NOT worth $40.
This was the most ridiculous excuse for a cookbook I have ever purchased. Crappy photos, uncreative recipes (yogurt, apple and honey for breakfast). Am returning it, because I do not even want to donate it to a library. Do not purchase this item hoping for guidance with your nickel allergy. Useless!

A great guide for a miserable allergy
I was just diagnosed with a nickel allergy. Chronic itching, head to toe. My dermatologist has not been able to get a hold on it yet. Diet is important because all of our foods have nickel. This is the only guide I found that tells what is and isn't acceptable in laymen's terms. My dermatologist gave me a paper addressing the dietary issues that came out of a medical journal which was totally contradictory unto itself and all the info out on the web is conflicting. The foods listed in here are based on FDA and medical research of nickel content in foods and these are broken down by good, moderate, and avoid. There are modified versions of our favorite recipes using ingredients with low nickel content. I highly recommend.

It is ok
Appreciate the effort, but recipes were not appealing to me, and I was hoping for more information on how to find more accurate information on the nickle content of ingredients. Also, it would be nice to know what exactly is considered "low nickle". How much is too much? It is a frustrating allergy to have. The book was more limited than I had hoped for, but on the other hand, it is unreasonable of me to expect that much from a cookbook.

Eh
6 "recipes" are just different fruit on yogurt. Everything is made with toxic canola oil that causes worse health issues than nickel. Was hoping for recipes to replace things I can't have, like hummus. Not too much of that in here. Just recipes for things that never had nickel in the first place. Great stuff if you're GF or nut free, but...

Fantastic Cookbook for nickle allergies
As for the recipes, I really don't use recipes but they are good suggestions. The information about nickle allergies is invaluable. I have passed this information on. Many people are allergic to nickle and do not know it. Another face many people are not aware of is the foods that contain nickle that are not publicized. Beets contain Nickle. Sugar cane is now going to contain nickle because the government is having sugar cane growers to alternate soy beans with the sugar cane. That has been going on for more years than I realized. What happens is soybeans contain nickle. Nickle is then worked in to the soil. Thus sugar cane then gets nickle in it that way. The editors of this book should look into that.
