Thermal Grizzly Duronaut CPU Thermal Paste - 2 Gram - Long-Term Stability

Here's a tip to make spreading this thermal paste WAY easier- just put it in your pants pocket for 10-15 minutes. Your body heat will warm up it up just enough to make it easy to spread. I went down a rabbit hole of researching different thermal pastes after my Arctic MX-4 pumped out super early. I decided on Thermal Grizzly after watching the videos of their factory and hearing the CEO's passion for cooling products, which made me feel better about buying it. Nothing beats a product made with love. Once it arrived, I loved the amount of different applicators available in the package- even for the 2 gram size. It was easy to apply after leaving it in my pocket for 10 minutes to warm up and spread well. Even then, I found the paste to be surprisingly thick and requiring a lot of pressure and careful spreading with the spatula to get a good coating. After applying, I was slightly underwhelmed with the temperatures. However, after about a month of use, I noticed something "kick in" and temperatures decreased a couple degrees. This paste seems to do the best for me under larger thermal loads (e.g. stress testing and benchmarking)- where I saw almost a 4 degree C improvement using Duronaut compared to MX-4. 2 months in, I'm super happy with the decision. I'm excited to see how the performance keeps up through the 6-8 month mark and what the longevity is like. Duronaut (and the rest of Thermal Grizzly's paste lineup) are premium products that might not get you the best value for money, but in my mind, the performance and passion that went into this product more than justify the premium paid for it. I will support TG over a big box brand any day, and in that sense, value for money is excellent. 2 grams is also plenty enough for multiple on multiple applications, and I'm happy with this product.

Update.. Wow.. my max Temp is now 68c and avg is 44c? I cleaned off my original application and applied the last of it (small tube?), but this time I did not try to spread it as my first attempt seemed to stick large amounts of paste to the plastic spreader. Instead I applied 12 well spaced blobs and carefully and slowly pressed and twisted the cooler block to really spread out the paste and then completely screwed it down.. I know, I know. but this is how I normally do it and it always works well... I should have just done my usual way from the start...smeg. Anyway, this stuff is top shelf! My orig review: It's very dry, difficult to spread and then I benchmarked with Novabench and HWiNFO64 and noticed that my CPU Max Temp is at 77c which is ok, but that's 3 degrees higher than with the paste that came with the AIO? Does it have to break in or something? I'll give it bit and retest, and then if neccessary clean and reapply and update my review if it improves.

Amazing results! I have been overclocking my GPU since years for max performance and by far this is the best non-metallic thermal paste I have ever used. The results were surprisingly fantastic. RESULTS: I used it on CPU and GPU for my laptop and the CPU temperatures went down by 30 deg Celsius and GPU by 35 deg Celsius. Before the application my laptop would turn up the fans pretty loud right after boot up. But now it is dramatically silent. Even when playing games like RDR2 the GPU temperature doesn't go above 65 deg Celsius. I overclocked my GPU to max (+205 core clock, +450 Mem clock) and the GPU remains below 65 deg C and CPU remains below 78 deg C. APPLICATION: It is more viscous and much harder to apply as it is more viscous but not too difficult. The trick is to not over do it while moving the spatula or the smooth surface starts to break up. It's worth the price. And I still have enough to reapply when it's needed. I would highly recommend this product.

The paste spreads very smoothly, making installation easy and clean, and it covers the CPU and GPU evenly without any clumps. After reassembling, temperatures dropped several degrees under heavy gaming sessions, and the fans don’t ramp up as aggressively as before. The laptop runs quieter and cooler overall, which makes long gaming sessions much more comfortable. This thermal paste feels like a premium product — stable, reliable, and long-lasting. The 2‑gram size was perfect for my laptop and still leaves a bit for future maintenance. If you own a gaming laptop like the m17 R3, I highly recommend Duronaut.

The Thermal Grizzly Duronaut thermal paste lives up to its name, offering truly impressive cooling performance that kept my CPU running at an incredibly cool and steady temperature of 27−34 ∘ C. The moment I applied it, I noticed a significant drop in idle temperatures compared to other pastes I've used. This level of thermal efficiency not only ensures a quiet system but also provides excellent thermal headroom for demanding tasks and overclocking, keeping the CPU well within safe operating ranges even under heavy load. The performance aspect of this paste is absolutely top-tier and for that alone, it's worth considering for any serious PC builder or enthusiast. However, a major point to consider is the application process. The paste has a very thick, almost clay-like consistency that makes it exceptionally difficult to spread evenly across the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS). It required considerable pressure and patience to get a proper, thin layer, and I found myself needing to be extra careful to avoid air bubbles. This is not a "simple smear" type of paste; you'll need to work with it. Ultimately, the Thermal Grizzly Duronaut is a premium product with a trade-off. If you are comfortable with a challenging application process and value exceptional thermal performance above all else, this is a fantastic choice. The stable and low temperatures it provides are well worth the initial struggle with spreading the paste. But if you're a beginner or prefer a more user-friendly, forgiving application, you might want to look elsewhere.

Great product and easy to use

Lenovo ThinkPad W520. idle fan speed 0x40 (max) is 45C. idle fan speed regulated normal is 50C. CPU (i7 2760QM) stress test 73C. GPU (Quadro 2000M) stress test 64C. Overall stress test with everything selected except disks is right at 80C, going down to 79C and back up to 80C, never above 80C.!!! This is amazing! It used to be just the CPU stress test would give 96C @ 14% throttle, GPU stress was 82C, and doing overall stress test would throttle CPU and run clock at 3090 MHz. Now full 3190 MHz, no throttle, cool 80C. If you can imagine thermal pads that are used on mosfets and NAND, well this "thermal paste" is not really paste, it don't have paste consistency, it's more of a thermal pad in a tube that you squeeze out and try to spread across CPU and GPU, good luck with that!! Application is not easy. However, results are highly rewarding. I definitely recommend this thermal paste for purchase and in the future I will be trying other thermal grizzly products. To be totally honest, I did not expect such great results.

Yes, it's hard to spread, no it's not designed for your gaming rig but if properly and patiently applied you will see benefits even if slight. This stuff is top notch for Server grade CPUs along with High End Mobile Workstation laptops. You can actually smell the moisture contents burning off and sealing that CPU to the cooler. Honestly you can use this stuff for about anything if you are patient enough to apply it. Time will tell but it seems on par with HP high end factory paste. I'm expecting 3-5 years solid performance which covers enterprise.

Zdaje efekt sprawdzony na i9-12900 i jestem mega zadowolony. Najważniejsze: ciężko się nakłada go. Są sposoby, aby na chwilę wsadzić do ciepłej wody, wtedy ponoć łatwiej się go rozprowadza.

Original product, came in perfect condition. It helped my laptop CPU i7-9750H idle as low as 47 degrees and reach 87 degrees under a stress test. Before, it used to idle at 80 degrees and exceed 100 degrees when working, so this thermal paste is a high-quality material.

Picked this up for a high-performance CPU/GPU repaste and it’s been excellent. If you want strong thermal performance without the risk and complexity of liquid metal, this is a great middle ground. Thermal performance is very solid. Temps dropped compared to older or budget paste, and more importantly, temps stay stable under sustained load — which is huge for overclocked systems or long gaming/render sessions. The consistency is great to work with. It spreads evenly, doesn’t run, and doesn’t dry out quickly during installation. Application is straightforward whether you’re doing desktop CPUs, GPUs, or even console cooling refreshes. Durability is where this paste really stands out. It doesn’t pump out quickly under heat cycles, which makes it ideal for long-term installs where you don’t want to repaste frequently. Packaging is clean and easy to use, and 2g is enough for multiple applications depending on die size. If you want premium thermal paste performance with strong long-term stability, this is an easy recommendation. Great for enthusiasts, overclockers, and high-performance builds. Would definitely buy again.
