Organic Valley Liquid Organic Egg Whites, 16 oz

These are real egg whites in a liquid. They can be last (in the frig) for a long time before opened. And even last a while once they are opened. So much easier than breaking eggs and trying to separate out the whites. I recommend.

While I really love egg yolks (especially if they are organic and come from pasture raised hens), there are some recipes that need or work better with egg whites.Organic Valley egg products are always good quality, with a nice taste; but in the end these are egg whites and are pretty tasteless. Otherwise, they work really well in recipes.I used them to bulk-up frittatas, omelettes and scrambled eggs, they add volume and puffiness without the rubbery texture some other egg whites have. I used them for meringue and homemade marshmallow, with a pinch of cream of tartar they beat-up perfectly stiff and glossy.

You are probably thinking? Pay more than $6 for egg whites? Yes, these are great tasting, egg whites. For me I seek out organic products. These are impossible to find in my local stores - even here in the SF bay area! I love these- always fresh, what else can I say - good product! Will keep buying!

I stopped consuming whole eggs some time ago just as a preference to cut fat calories. These are much easier and less messy to prepare and taste great. I usually just pour into a cup, stir up and scramble them.
