Beautiful and Authentic Gaiwan for Traditional Tea Rituals
The fanquare Gaiwan is a stunning piece for anyone who loves traditional Chinese tea culture. The blue-and-white porcelain design is vibrant and elegant, adding a lovely touch to tea time or décor. With a 6oz capacity, it’s perfect for tea tasting. The lid, while not fully airtight, provides a bit of insulation and helps with skimming tea leaves. I appreciate the smooth, non-porous interior, which is easy to clean and keeps tea flavors pure. A lovely addition to any tea lover’s collection.

Lovely gaiwan
This is a lovely gaiwan, and it's also well made. The rim of the lid is nice and smooth, and it fits the cup nicely, leaving no gaps regardless of how you place it. The indentation in the saucer fits the cup perfectly, and the saucer itself has room to prop the lid, which I like. The porcelain is thin enough to allow light through but thick enough to be fairly sturdy. The rim of the cup extends far enough out to prevent scalding fingers during pouring. When I ordered the gaiwan, I wasn't sure about the exact capacity since the headline said 6 oz, the capacity line said 6.3 oz, the description said 180 ml, and the image said 200 ml.If you fill the cup all the way to the rim with no tea leaves and without the lid (the way I usually see gaiwan capacity measured), it actually holds about 225 ml. The usable region holds about 180 ml (no tea leaves, filled to the general pour area, where the water touches the edge of the lid but does not seep out around it). That is large for a single-person gaiwan, but it's a good size for sharing. I have small hands, and the gaiwan's size makes it awkward to hold and pour in the traditional manner, but I can manage it. If you have average to large hands, it shouldn't be a problem.

Splendid Mood Enhancer
I bought this as a mood enhancer for my study desk, where I sit for several hours a day learning Mandarin Chinese. It helps; the pattern and colors are lovely in person, and its quality and weight are spot-on for the price.Personally, I'm a coffee drinker, not a tea drinker, and I'm one of those guys who uses a 22-ounce mug, not a petite tea cup. So I put the lid in the drawer, use the cup as a pencil and highlighter holder, and put my big mug on the saucer, coaster-style. The cup would also make a good holder for paperclips or what I call "baby binder clips", especially if you use the lid.For my purposes, it's just splendid. Thanks.

Adult use
I love quality and design of the product. I've never used one before so I had learning curve. Serving sixze is for a chinese cup of tea.Ne careful when pouring the liquid. Takes practice to avoid burning your hand. Why I say adult use only.I got this since the steal mess ones are hard clean. This is very easy to clean and great for making a single serving of tea.

Beautiful but Lacks Function, Too Heavy, Lid is Awkward
I'm reviewing Fanquare Chinese Gaiwan with Cover, 9.46oz, Lotus, Gongfu Tea Set, Porcelain, Traditional Blue and White Tea Service for One.This is a lovely white gaiwan with a beautiful blue lotus design (see photo). This gaiwan is on the larger side with more than a 9 oz capacity. I find it to be on the heavy side. I was hoping because it's porcelain that it would be thinner and more delicate. My other porcelain gaiwans have a thinner structure. Also the lid is not well seated. I use gaiwans regularly, so don't expect a tight fit; however, the lid doesn't want to stay seated in the center of the cup, but tends to slide over to the side. Because of the weight and less than ideal fitting lid, I find this gaiwan to be more awkward to use than my others. This is a three piece set with a saucer, bowl, and lid. The bowl is nicely shaped with a flared rim, and I found that it didn't get too warm while pouring. I also like that the lid will set next to the cup in the saucer when not in use to keep my tea station tidy between steepings (see photo). Keeping the lid on over wet tea leaves can cause them to steam and "cook" while removing it, allows them to dry out a bit.The description says this is a 1 serving gaiwan, but for my gongfu style brewing, I would pour the liquor from this gaiwan into a sharing cup to serve several small tea cups. It's a nice size gaiwan to use for a tea tasting or tea ceremony.I would give this gaiwan 5 stars for it's beautiful appearance and about 2 stars for function. Because I value function over beauty in a gaiwan, I'm going with 3 stars overall. As a side note, this Fanquare Chinese Gaiwan is made in China.

Small Chinoiserie cup with saucer and lid
Exquisite quality!Beautiful Peony design.Much smaller than expected. But this is supposed to be for tea ( and not sugar as I formerly thought). Good price to showcase good piece of chinaware.
