We tried everything over the counter and prescription. The vet had us try apoquel which worked a bit but at the dose he needed would have cost almost $400/mo. The vet even tried steroids which also worked but we didn't want to do long term due to side effects. A family member who was a breeder recommended this to boost his immune system. We weren't getting our hopes up but figured we tried everything else and it was made for sporting, heavy working dogs. It has done better than we could have ever hoped. Not only has his fur stopped falling out and dry skin gotten so much better but the fur has grown completely back. He still has some of the dark spots but they are small and fewer. I would recommend trying this to anyone. He still has allergies but they are more manageable and it was a cost effective alternative to prescripts with side effects. Our dog doesn't like the taste but a little beef broth fixed that. The instructions states you give your pet 1 teaspoon per every 10 lbs. The label also states the guaranteed analysis per pound. One pound is equal to 2,400 mg/kg of iron.
