To preface, I'm almost 70 and have been a nail biter most of my life...it's a terrible habit and I finally decided I wanted to stop once and for all. So, I ordered this product and it is, without a doubt, the most heinous taste ever...thus it works! I have not put a nail anywhere near my teeth since I started using it. I would highly recommend it to break the nail biting habit. That said, be forewarned, it's not required to be biting your nails to get this terrible taste into your mouth...if you try to dislodge some tiny bit of food from between your teeth with your finger, the evil taste in your mouth will be the same. Buy some toothpicks and keep your floss handy. Good luck!

First product review of my life! I am still SHOCKED. My 2.5 year old daughter sucked her fingers since birth. I kept putting off doing anything because I figured it would a really hard transition.Since first application her fingers never went back in her mouth. She even asked me to reapply because she thought it was regular nail polish, but only used a few times and it’s been a month now without :)

Our 7 year old granddaughter wouldn't keep her fingers out of her mouth. We had tried everything we could think of to keep her from chewing on her fingernails. Found out about this product and thought we would give it a try. As soon as it came in we painted her nails with it. She never commented on the taste, but within a few days she had fingernails again. She had kept her fingers out of her mouth since the first application. We reapply every couple of days. I figure by the time the bottle is empty the habit will be broken.

Great product! Works very well. ONLY problem is with the screw on lid. I've had to purchase this product 3 different times because after using once the lid gets stuck. I initially thought it was because it had been stored on its side but I haven't done that with my last 2 bottles. Thought it might be that I got some of the liquid down the side when I was putting it back on with the last bottle but this recent bottle was used once (just about it 2 months ago) and I was extremely careful to make sure I didn't get any along the screw on part but the cap was so stuck that it broke when I used to pliers to open it. Would love if this problem was fixed. Going to see if I can someone get a replacement cap because I really don't want to buy it a 4th time.

I bought it for my toddler to stop sucking on her thumb, and it works! I used it at bedtime since it was the time she soothed herself the most to fall asleep. You have to be consistent with the application every day. It took about a week to fully see the results. Now, she doesn’t suck her thumb at all. 100% recommended!

It works, but it also needs to be applied daily (not every few days like the packaging says). It also made my 4 year old vomit the first night we put it on her thumbs. She must have stuck her thumb in her mouth in the middle of the night while she was sleeping, because she woke up and vomited and said it was because of the bad taste and then she had a stomach ache for the rest of the day.

My baby sister wouldn’t stop sucking her thumb, we tried this on her and after about a month of use she completely stopped. Doesn’t have a strong smell but the taste is definitely deterring. I will be using this for my kids if they suck their thumbs!!

Used to help daughter stop thumb sucking. Applies like a nail polish, dried quickly and tastes awful. We find it comes off in 1-2 days, so need to reapply often.
