Circles of The East : Quilt Designs from Ancient Japanese Family Crests

These are quite nice. Is amazes me the skill to stitch these designs onto Kimonos in ancient times. I love that she turned them into quilts and added a color/ print element. Some of the designs are easier than others. If you are new to quilting or it has been awhile, pick from the designs with larger pieces and progress to the smallest most intricate.

I'm hooked on making these motifs. They take much patience with precision copying and cutting of the fabric, but certainly worth the effort. I had such fun choosing Asian fabrics for these motifs. This book will be my friend for months to come as I get better and better at applique.

Great inspiration for quilting

not a book for beginners.... very detailed and full of ideas that will inspire and get the creative juices flowing.

This book is full of beautiful ideas. Most of the projects are small so the "fear of applique" is tempered by the fact that you can make one crest, frame it with beautiful fabric borders and you have a terrific piece of art without having to commit to a huge applique project. But the journey is well worth it - everything I've made with Ms. Sudo's inspirational direction has turned out perfectly. I'm anxious to get started on more!

Some super designs for appliqué work. It's very easy to follow and I like the fact you are told which piece to apply first.

My order came quite quickly considering it was ordered nearbto Christmas. A very good book with lots of Japanese designs all with their little story.
