Needed a replacement filter and got this. Seems to be working great so far and it filters faster than the original one.

I would definitely get these again. This set works perfectly in my Berkey-like system. The added fluoride filters were a one off for me. I don't mind fluoride in the water. I didn't notice much taste difference between these and the "brand name" one I bought the first time around.

So I grabbed these for my new non-Berkey gravity water filtration system I just got so I have replacements ready when they're needed. Of course the ones that came with it are good for 6,000 gallons, it'll be just a bit before they'll need changed LOL. But since they come individually sealed in plastic they'll keep. These look exactly like the ones that came with it and I don't anticipate any issues, I'll be sure to update if there are any down the road.These come with an adapter to hook them up to a faucet so you can rinse them to help remove any loose carbon dust prior to use. You can also (and should) set them up in your system after the rinse and run a couple full system of water amount through them, inbetween each run through empty and rinse the system out. You should them be good to use the filtered water that's been run through the system. The carbon dust isn't going to hurt you if some get's into your body, just be aware any meds you've taken it could affect their effectiveness if it neutralizes them.You can get these in the 4 or 2 pack black carbon filters, with the 2 black and 2 white. The white ones remove fluoride by a natural mineral synthesis process. The black carbon filters are good for 6,000 gallons of water filtering, the white ones are only good for 1,000 gallons of water filtering. That info is per the listing.And I just want to point out what a great use of a natural byproduct of our planets food production I think this is. To reuse this otherwise what would be a waste product and turn it into a useful carbon filtering product for our drinking water! Was pretty excited to find these, I had been needing to replace mine for awhile. I chose the combo set, since I’ve never tried the white filters before. These came well packaged, with the little piece to prep the filters. I do wish there were instructions, since I’d never used the white filters before. They fit perfect on my water filtering system. Been using these filters for a few days now, and our drinking water has no quality change from other filter brands I’ve used in the past. Would get these again.

Didn’t last more than 20 gallons and then it stopped filtering. Tried to troubleshoot, but it did not help. I must add though that I did use it for rainwater that had already been run through cloth. Don’t know if that had anything to do with it, but these replacement filters also raise your ppm.

The water goes through these very fast compared with the original Berkey filters, which makes me doubt that they’re filtering much.
