But nothing special to write home about. I was offered the 2" model which came in a spartan package with oiled paper to prevent rust. There's not a whole lot to these so I can't identify any special feature about them that would make them better than any other.

These V blocks are a good quality. The surfaces are cleanly ground flat with no discernible defects. They come wrapped in a wax paper and are lightly coated in oil for preservation. Based on my limited capabilities for inspection the dimensions appear to be as described. The blocks are durable, but are a small size. They will be good for clamping smaller pieces on my desktop mill. Overall these are a decent value for the quality.

The TEXALAN(R) 2 x 1-3/8 x 7/8 Inch Cast Iron V Block Set are accurate, well-made and nicely finished. They are perfect for use on any machine table for quick, easy and accurate set ups. I use these with my lathe, milling machine, drill press and even the workbench. They work extremely well when fabricating parts. They're east to maintain by merely wiping them clean and keeping a light coat of machine oil on them. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality and accuracy of the TEXALAN(R) 2 x 1-3/8 x 7/8 Inch Cast Iron V Block Set and consider it an excellent value in machining instruments!

I use these primarily for holding round items in my mill vise. This review is for the 2" blocks, which at the time of this review are no longer available on this product page. My blocks came with very minimal packaging and no storage case. They are made of iron so extensive packaging isn't really needed, but one of my blocks had minor damage to one corner. Since there is only a thin layer of cardboard to protect these relatively heavy blocks I think they are likely to sustain minor dents or nicks during shipping. There are also a few areas on the blocks which were not properly deburred from the factory, so plan on some minor cleanup with a stone or file. The blocks themselves seem to be of decent quality with nice surface finishes. I don't have inspection equipment to check for parallelism or squareness. Overall a nice set of V-blocks. If they had been thoroughly deburred and if they had come with a protective case they would be getting 5 stars.

These are small but heavy V blocks that are great for lots of tasks such as welding, woodworking and modeling. They are not very big which is fine for some of the uses I have for them. I work alone so having extra "hands" is a big help. These are well made and appear to be machined to a decent tolerance.

Fine smaller v-blocks. Grinding seems precise and accurate. Nice to have handy by the mill.
