We bought it as we have a small kid at home so we needed some extra security . This is really good for that. Also small kids can't open this so it's safe to use when you have small kids at home.it's simple to install and it's very durable. It's design is simple and functional. Also it's not a automatic lock and only can be open from inside with manual help so it's very secure.

My son knows how to open the front door so this purchase was a must. It was easy to install and easy to lock and unlock. It works really well and is very durable. Highly recommend if you have an independent toddler.

I absolutely love these door locks! If you make sure that your door closure will work with the design, it's easy to install and gives me an added sense of security! It works very well and was a good value! It would also work as a "child lock" because it would be difficult for a child to operate. It also comes in colors so can blend in with the door.

A basic addition that helps secure your door, for a decent price. It's small, easy to install, and pretty effective to stop the door from opening if kicked (depending on factors such as length of screws in the door hinges, and the door's frame). This comes with 2 sizes of screws, so they should be sufficient to hold this door lock in place with no problem. The instructions don't tell you HOW to rotate the locking mechanism though, so here it is: Once in place (test it off the door frame first of course), pull the locking bar to the side, then twist it back toward you. You do the reverse to close the lock in place. This prevents it from accidentally locking YOU out. This is a good option to keep small children from opening inside doors too, because it does take a bit of force to pull the mechanism. And of course, it should be placed out of reach for them as well. It's worth it for the cost, but for a more secure option for home security (to reduce the chances of home invasion even more by kicking in a front door), I purchased the Door Bull. It does cost more, but highly unlikely anyone's foot is going to get through. This unit is a decent choice for the price, and can add more peace of mind. They may even be able to pick a lock, but this can't be picked.

The media could not be loaded. I live in a “shotgun” style apartment and these locks work great!!! I placed one on the kitchen door and the other end of the bedroom door! The Landlord only had a door latch to the apartment so I bought myself these “reinforcement Locks” and they work great! I forgot to push-in the door knob lock and left the door unlocked but had the “ reinforcement lock” gadget in place so when I tried opening the door I couldn’t get out unless I released the latch!!PLEASE SEE MY VIDEO TO UNDERSTAND!!These are very easy to install!! The lock functions GREAT!!! The fit in the door is snug as well as the screws that come with the lock! I bought the pink one which is just as sturdy as the one in silver!

I haven’t tested the impact resistance of this however it keeps my toddler from opening main doors. Easy to install and great value and functionality.I would suggest getting a hammer and chisel for doors with tight tolerances.
