Miracle-Gro Raised Bed Soil 1.5 CF

cant wait till spring to buy this again

Due to age and health, I am forced to do most of my gardening in containers and grow bags requiriing the the purchase of a lot of bagged potting soil. In recent years much of the bags have had too much large bark and twigs plus have been plagued by terrible soil gnats. This year have gotten 6 bags of this raised bed soil and seems to be greatly improved in the quality and no large clumps of bark, etc. and when adding to containers you can just tell in mixing with older soil that it is of better quality. The size/wt. of the bags is a bit of a challenge for a senior but getting delivered through UPS from Amazon order directly to my porch where I can work from is a real asset. Still getting some gnats as I am also from Miracle Gro Seed starter bags which is not fun as seedlings are indoors. I wish Miracle Gro could do more about their persistent product problems with the bugs hatching in everything. For containers this seems to be a good buy and way to go though.

Not sure what to think about this... it's raised bed soil but contained a ton of small branches and other dry stuff... I would not buy it again. The raised bed soil at Home depot is much better, and the crazy thing is that it's also made by Miracle grow. I'll pass on this next time.

I have purchased this product before and always found it to be acceptable for potting spring plants. I am concerned that this product uses valuable peat in the soil. There are more sustainable and better substitutes for peat and I will think again before considering another purchase of this soil mixture.

Would of liked it to be less wood chips in it

I don’t know why but buying this raised bed soil product didn’t pan out for me. Opened first bag and found huge amount of white fluffy growth of fungus. Not putting my plants in this! Refunded! Next bag a couple weeks later - ugh - same thing! Top of the bag contained way too much moisture and the amount of large twigs and wood chips was extreme. It was like new compost - just not ready for prime time! Why would I repurchase if I need to treat this stuff with anti-fungal and insect control before planting?! Sorry, way too much added labor and cost.

Amazing soil! In the right of my garden you can see it is flourishing. As I could only buy 3 bags... I used another brand for the left side of my garden. The difference is staggering.

Amazon only allows you to buy a limit of three bags. That barely makes an inch or two of soil in my raised bed. Thanks a lot, Amazon....so helpful
