Had been struggling to get rid of particular malware “topic lookup”. Within a short period after installing, bit defender took care of it. I’m a customer for as long as I own my Mac. Definitively worth the cost.

I followed the instructions to install and it said it was installed but then the dashboard says my computer is still at risk. So I followed the instructions again and ended up in the same place over and over. There doesn't appear to be anything installed on the computer, just the uninstaller. How can I uninstall something that wasn't installed? Total BS product.

The AV has a great write-up by analysts, as one of the top. However, I know have seen the first year subscription price at $29.99, after discounts. You have to watch that you negotiate for year two, or they will auto bill you for $59.99.

Not only did the first scan eliminate my most visible issue (Bing hijacking Google), my MacBook is now running like a fine-tuned sports car. Excellent product - fair price - easy to use.

I got this product through Costco when I bought a Netgear Orbi Router. It does not work well with Catalina. One cannot exclude attached devices since Catalina uses a different path to devices putting /System/Volume/Data/Volume/[VolName]. Drag and drop exceptions create a path of /Volume/[VolName] so years of TimeMachine backups and Carbon Copy Cloner show thousands of dangerous files in the archives. One can only wait until you get a message of a dangerous file. to create an exception. Terminal does not show the Catalina path. Typing out the path and attempting to drag and drop it in the window fails. Support takes 24 or more hours for each reply. The most recent message tells me to drag and drop into exceptions which I had already demonstrated did not work. I started my query on Dec 31 and today is Jan 9. Just replied asking them, again, for instructions on how to enter the correct path.The "Stoplight" feature for Safari does not work. It took several calls and emails to support to finally tell me it is a known issue. Sheesh!Putting in an email ticket in their support webpage lists operating systems to choose when you submit. It does not include Catalina as a choice. I should have known….I will say it does provide protection and has blocked questionable websites and has found problems on my drive but if you are using Catalina and have attached backups, I have yet to find a way to get some of its basic features to workUpdate August 2021The stoplight works but the same oroblem with Mojave after migrating to a new Mac. Called the company again and they said it is a known issue and they are working on a fix. They have been "working on it" for over two years now. If you do not have old archives, it should work well for you

As soon as I installed Bitdefender, my battery needed to be charged a couple a times a days. I uninstalled Bitdefender and it stopped overheating and draining the battery. I got a different antivirus and all is running well again.

Works great and a lot of options to add other security features.
