The acrylic foam tape has been durably manufactured and is the ideal replacement for rivets, spot welds, screws, and liquid adhesives. Double-sided adhesive tape can be suitably used for bonding a broad variety of substrates like aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, composites, acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, painted or sealed wood, etc. Use the acrylic adhesive to attach steel stiffeners to metal panels for doors and for cabinet or sign assembly.

So far so good. Solar Panel installed on roof of car with this tape.
I would have liked it to be a little wider but I am pretty sure that was my fault for miscalculating what I thought a half inch width was. Anyway I used this material for installing a solar panel onto a vehicle. I didn't want to drill more holes than I needed to into the roof and I had read that this material would work as a great alternative and there wouldn't be any issues.I was very worried that this product wouldn't work. Like terrified. I had visions that my solar panel would fly off the roof of my vehicle and come crashing down on the highway. However, other people had attested that this stuff worked great and they never had any issues.I am happy to say I have travelled about 3,500 miles and counting with this tape holding my solar panel to the roof of my car and I have not had any issues at all. I would say it holds up well and you can rest easy knowing that this adhesive bond tape will likely get the job done. If you are installing a solar panel on the roof of your car, this is a much quicker and efficient way to install without wrecking the roof. I would order this product again.

Didn't work for windshield mount
Trying to find a solution to mount a cell holder to my windshield. Have been through two with the "sticky gel" and that stuff just becomes a gooey mess in the hot sun. The specs on the 3M VHB imply it will stand up to the heat. NOT! I thoroughly cleaned the base of my mount and the windshield. Applied to the mount first and let it sit for 24 hrs. Then applied to the windshield and let that cure out of the sun for 12 hrs. First time exposed to the sun it lasted all of 3 hours before the thing just fell off. Never got to put the cell phone on it. The adhesion to the mount just let go. I'm going to clean the mount base again and try one more time but this is really disappointing. Hate to buy a $50 RAM mount but it is headed that way.

Stickiest tape out there for the best bang for buck.
So first off comparing this to 3M dual layered tissue tape..tissue tape= ripped off at 35mph after proper applying to my helmet...(72 hour dry time)This tape/VHB tape = Stayed on my helmet rock solid with a 16 hour overnight dry time. Not a single vibration up to 65 mph (road limits)This tape STICKS forever and if you missed a spot you can see it and note where its not stuck properly so you can peel and reapply properly.the only way to mess it up is to not stick properly. Therefore this tape works perfectly.Currently testing it with a 25 pound weight being held to a wall with it (multiple small pads due to surface size) still going strong three days later. :DOverall. 5 stars or a 10/10Does what it needs. works flawlessly. DOES NOT leave a nasty sticky residue when taken off during the dry period (miss placed a mount took it off and reapplied. worked flawlessly afterwards and cleaned nicely.)10/10"Much sticky."-Nightmare

This tape is insanely strong
It is very strong, not so easy to cut and quite permanent. Using this to mount a small LCD panel. This tape is way overkill for this purpose, but its just the right height, and it won't degrade over time. There's a datasheet for it if you need particulars. It has a gummy consistency. Only real complaint other than being "too strong", is the red backing is quite difficult to peel.

Expiration Date ????
There is no expiration date on the tape I received. This tape expires after 24 months. It is not as effective after the expiration date. Since I am putting solar panels on my RV roof with this tape, I can only hope that this tape is not older than 24 months.

3m double sided tape
I wasn't sure if this was the real thing. As you can see in the pic, the white roll that the tape is wrap around does not have the 3m logo imprinted on it like the pic that is on the Amazon. I compare it to my original 3m that I bought a long time ago from Grainger. It's the same thickness. I have used it and it seems to be the same and is holding pretty good.

I'm pleased to say that it has never come off even ...
I ordered the 1"x5yd version. I use this to replace the adhesive backing on my GoPro flat mount. I mount my GoPro Hero underneath the wings of a Cessna 152 aircraft. Without even waiting for a full 24 hours of "curing" as per the instructions on the GoPro mounts, I'm pleased to say that it has never come off even in speeds in excess of 120mph. This stuff is strong and is even difficult to remove once bonded. I use a pry bar to carefully dislodge the adhesive from the airplane after use. I'm now about to purchase my second roll, as the first one lasted me for more than a year.

Product as advertised- recommended
Tape strips were indeed in a pack of 5 and were the size dimensions as described in the product info. Arrived very fast. Used these for a gopro helmet mount (to fill in gaps to get full adhesion surface coverage) although haven't really tested the strength of this mount to the max yet. One thing's for sure- I screwed up a couple of times on the install and had to remove some half strips of the tape; had to toss the mistake strips as they held on like an absolute beast and stretched out on removal, even with only light initial application force. As such I expect the strips I applied properly and with strong force will hold as good as any VHB (4991) that would come off of a factory roll. Good option for anyone who wants just a bit of VHB for their mounts etc. Thumbs up and recommended.

Some areas on this tape were up to. 5" ...
Some areas on this tape were up to .5" shorter. This product is by no means a square piece. Also there is no listed expiration date - after 24 months the tape adhesive looses some of its strength.

Good as a secondary / temporary fix
I am using this to attach painter's plastic wrapping/sheeting. And the plastic is slowly unsticking from the tape. Meanwhile the tape is not coming off from the wall (paper type of material. So, it is neither permanent, nor good at holding lightweight plastic. Maybe it is excellent at sticking to metal and glass, except that is not what I need it for.

Used it to glue down a 100 watt solar panel to the RV roof
After watching videos on youtube. I decided it would be better to glue down the panel rather than drill holes. After two months it still solid. I added Cofair T-UBE406 Quick Roof Extreme with Steel-Loc Adhesive tape over the top as an extra seal. highly recommended.
