Not a single complain, solid boots
Haven't worn them enough, but up to this point the boots seem pretty well made, comfortable, with the right amount of cushioning and support, the sole is sticky and grippy, but I am yet to test it on a good hike. I live in a warm place (25-30C)and they feel beathable enough to survive here... i love the reinforcement on the toe area, because thats were I usually scratch them. The best compliment I can give them is that I havent noticed a single thing I dont like about them. As for the size and fit... they feel a bit roomy, but just enough so that you can either tight them well or use thick socks on colder weather, not an issue i actually appreciate the space on the toe area, I hate shoes that squeze my tows together. The specs say they are water repelent, DWR or something, but I prayed them with another product anyways

Good looking, nice sticky treads
Have purchased 5.10s for years. Am sz 10 women purchase 8.5 men for toe box room when trail running. Recommended by hike shop that outfits our search & rescue. Best hikers for comfort. Over time form to your foot. Sticky sole amazing for jumping rock to rock or scaling incline. Only reason for 4-star is because all models have poor adhesion of sole to boot. Often coming unglued within few months. Can re-glue yourself, but there are places that specialize in re-soling 5.10s. (That tells you something) Not to throw away so(!) amazing, but flawed. Company seems to be concentrating on free climb styles now so these not mfg anymore.

Perfect hikers, not as durable as I would like.
Photos included show two pair of these boots. There is a third pair in my possession that will look like these soon. Yours will fail in this manner.Comfort - FIVE STARS - nice lacing system allows for a fair amount of leeway, size to your normal hikers and you'll have maybe a quarter size up or down, to accommodate thicker socks or even neoprene liners if doing some canyoneering. Easy to dial in to your foot. Nice if feet are slightly different sizes.Tread live - FIVE STARS - this "S1 Stealth Rubber" sole has outstanding treadlife even on the harshest, sharpest, most abrasive terrain of the desert southwest. Blows away anything by Vibram.Tread grip - FIVE STARS - the Stealth Rubber outsole is super grippy on all sorts of rock, even wet (and underwater), and the lugs deep are well spaced.Sure-footedness - FIVE STARS - I feel like these will go anyplace I aim them. Sticks to rocks for confident scrambling. I tend to roll an ankle on occasion with regular high hiker boots or backpackers, have not turned one yet in over a year of owning Camp Fours.Construction - TWO STARS - You can expect to get about 600 miles out of a pair if you hike in the desert southwest. Maybe more in less punishing terrain. You will start to see trouble within 200 miles. At the end of those 600 miles the uppers will be split open and the soles will have delaminated near the toes and maybe other areas. Have some "Shoe-Goo" on hand for occasional maintenance.-----------------------------I have typically used above-the-ankle light hiking boots or heavier backpacking boots. When my old go-to Vibram soled hikers started being more cheaply made and falling apart too quickly I picked up a pair of Camp Fours on a whim and they have become my favorite hiking shoe. You can read my ratings above to get an idea of the good parts. I want to focus on the disappointments. The main selling point of this shoe is the outsole It is fantastically grippy and long-wearing. The major disappointment is the cheap construction of the uppers. Thin leather (or leather-like material) forms the bulk of the upper. Problem is, this material is not wrapped down and welded to the footbed in any way. The shoe will split apart along the inside edges where the upper meets the footbed, fairly early into their lives. Also, the outsoles will begin to delaminate around the edges, especially at the toes.I am currently on my third pair of Camp Four Mids in the past 14 months. My first two pair fit this profile: I typically begin seeing toe delamination after about 100 miles. I fix it and any other outsole delam with ShoeGoo, reapplying when needed. After about 200 miles I begin seeing cracks in the uppers, notably at the toe bend inside the big toe (see photos). At about 500 miles, though the shoes now have visible holes, the outsoles are still spectacular and the shoes amazingly comfortable - ugly but still usable. At about 600 miles they are toast, ok for local loops but DO NOT bring to backcountry, and ready for retirement. My current (third) pair of these have about 50 miles and starting to show stress spots at the toe crease, I suspect I will see cracks form here by they time they've gone 100 miles.I still buy them because the sure-footedness and grip. They hike so good that as long as I can find these on discount, I overlook the construction problems.I have not tried the GTX or "Leather" versions (aren't these "leather"?) and don't know if they have better construction - but I can't see spending the additional $$ for the same boot if it has the same issues - holes will negate any water resistance the GoreTex may try to provide anyway.So.... get some if you want awesome, surefooted grip. If you don't do 1500 miles a year on desert rock, yours may not die as quickly as mine.

Great grip
Amazing boots for the price. Love the fit. Love the design and durability. I climb trees for a living and they have exceeded my expectations, very grippy and great so far.

Not bad, but not the greatest
A couple issues...second day wearing them and one of the top metal eyelets for the laces broke off while tying them. Other issue is that the top upper area of the tongue that overlaps with the shoe seems to rub on the ankle more than expected. Still a great hiker but has minor flaws.

Great mix of agility and protection
They fit nicely snug in the heel and have a generous toe box for a comfortable and stable fit. The soles are sticky on dry rock; haven't had a chance to try them in the wet. They benefit from some break-in time and feel better after a few hikes. They seem to me somewhat neutral in terms of pronation control.

By far the best traction!
Just one use but I’m an owner of various 5.10’s so I know they tend to get really beaten up. They held up really good, put them through a beating walking river up through water and mud. Like nothing I’ve weared before by far they are worth the money because they will get you far.
