They were individually wrapped and then packaged in a larger bag to prevent damage. They are also very sturdy. I do a lot of beading and I always have small amounts left that waste a lot of storage space if I have to package them in the bigger containers. These little cosmetic jars are just what I was looking for to sample my personal care items to people and give them little present in a pretty presentation manner. I do rather like the different color lid options. It means I could organize them certain products only in the blue. Another in the clear or pink lids. Little drawback which was quite minimal. When I put a lot of the samples together at one time, the pink comes off a bit on my finger and nails. It washed off easily. Just maybe do your manicure after you put yours together. The other thing is, these are not commercially airtight jar, vacuum sealed. They are a perfect little size for a purse, clutch, or evening bag, but your cosmetic will be air affected within a few days. So don't batch for the month. Batch put together for the next few days and let your giftees know to use it soon, not hold onto it for 3 months. My handcream harded. I could still use it myself. However, I could not gift it. LOVE 'em!
