Progressive International ProKeeper Butter Container (White, Single)

I'd say this is best butter dish ever. . . except, removing the lid can be a bit challenging as the stick of butter gets smaller. I bought two of these & love them completely. The gauge for sizing tablespoon/teaspoon more or less is very handy. The lid stays on well. The whole dish is very attractive! However, when I've used about half a stick of butter, I have more trouble getting the lid off. It takes actually picking up butter dish, with one hand holding the top & one holding the bottom I have to physically separate the top from the bottom. It comes apart pretty easy but it does take conscious thought & stop to pay attention to remove the lid without the butter sliding. It has a little bit of a seal that you can feel give way when you hold the top in one hand & bottom of the butter dish in the other hand. It's very clever how it seals without a latch or catch that I can see. Really a bit of a marvel! But when I'm cooking and I reach for the dish to scoop a teaspoon or so into vegetables or such I have to stop. Remember to think about this dish and use two hands before I pick it up. You don't want to tilt the dish because the soft butter will slide. It's maybe a little counter intuitive. Most of us don't pick up the whole butter dish to get a pat of butter while you are cooking. You simply lift the lid, slide your knife and put the dollop of butter into the other dish or pan all with one hand, while you're stirring something with the other hand. It's how I learned to cook. This clever seal that keeps the butter fresher, needs two hands for one little task and is new to me. But I really love the dish! It's better, keeps the butter very fresh and you can tell at a glance, tsp, TBS (teaspoon,Tablespoon) due to the discrete markings how much butter you're using. It's lightweight and the tray of the dish is reversible. You can use either side. One side has the markings for amounts, while the other side is a bit deeper so would allow for a bit of melt off from the butter (in warmer weather) to stay in the dish. Well engineered! Bravo! I am in the process of retraining my brain to use two hands to remove the lid. After 70 it gets harder to make these little changes.

I used to throw half used wrapped butter in my fridge butter compartment but it got greasy quickly so I got this container to keep the compartment clean and it’s been working well. I don’t keep butter on the counter so can’t assess how it works at room temp but the seal appears to be air tight and it is not too difficult to open. Lightweight plastic.

Generally speaking the butter dish is well made . But what warranted the 5 star rating is it's size. I've purchased several butter dishes in my time but was dissapointed in how the top of the butter cube gets smashed down a little from the top cover. This product is tall enough so that doesn't happen. I'm talking about west coast butter cubes that are shorter but taller than east coast butter.

This is a very nice quality butter dish. I would have given it 5 stars, but I have a little trouble opening it.

These are great for keeping the butter fresh and closed without putting it in the fridge. Added benefit, if you have cats that love butter for whatever reason, these do a great job of keeping them out. Even when they try knock them to the floor - they stay shut and sealed!

It's cheap but it's also quality with useful tablespoon and teaspoon markers on the sides of it. If you need a butter home this is it.

Works great. Stays closed when you want it to but is relatively easy to open. It might take you a couple times to get the hang of opening it without the butter moving though lol.

So I admittedly can’t get behind leaving my butter out on the counter just yet. Hopefully one day I can get over that phobia, but until then I wanted something that could help me keep my butter fresh in the refrigerator. Until this point I’ve just been wrapping the remaining paper around the butter. For my needs, I wanted something that wouldn’t be as easy to open.This butter keeper fit the bill perfectly for me! While it wouldn’t describe it as hard to open, it secures shut making it easy to grab out of the fridge and transport. The measurement lines are easy to read. The keeper itself is easy to clean. And most importantly of all, my butter is fresher. I absolutely recommend this product, feel way more like an adult compared to wrapping it in the scraped paper, and will continue to use it.

Now that we can find butter sticks in the stores, it is nice to have a keeper that fits them. Nice and air tight .. a little too tight perhaps but in a good way

Generally butter packaging comes in broader width. I had to turn the butter 90deg to stand to fit inside the container. But I must it makes slicing the butter really thin and even. We used to cut up thick slices and makes a mess and simply consumed too much butter.

Great little butter keeper would love to see a bigger size that would fit a half 250g or full 500g block of butter. Current size is suitable for 125g of butter.
