I have tried a number of portable projectors in recent years, and I would say that the Dangbei Freedo portable mini projector is the best yet.The projector is very well presented in a sturdy grey polystyrene case that is large enough to hold the projector and its accessories. It feels as though it would protect the projector from all but the biggest of knocks whilst in transit.The unit itself is made of high quality plastic and everything about it feels well designed and finished. The remote control is adequate.In use, the projector powers up quickly and has a very smooth and professional-looking operating system. All of the usual streaming services are represented, and I was able to log in to both Netflix and Amazon Prime video easily.Picture quality is excellent for a unit of this size. As with any portable projector, you'll still need to find a dark room to use this in, but with this taken into account, the Dangbei produces a vibrant, sharp image when pointed at the wall or a screen.The autofocus and keystone worked well, but I did need to make some minor manual adjustments to the latter to get it perfect.The sound quality through the internal speaker is ok for what it is, but I connected my JBL Charge 5 speaker via bluetooth and this gave a much better sound with no lip-sync issues. Connection was quick and seems reliable.The built in battery is an excellent idea as it allows the projector to be truly portable. I did find that it didn't quite last the 2.5 hours claimed for me, but it is easy to charge/use via the supplied power cable or a power bank.Overall, there is very little to fault with this projector, and it offers excellent value for money in my opinion.

I was worried about the picture quality, as I've heard iffy things about projectors, but this projector really surpassed my expectations.It's pretty straightforward and easy to set up. You can charge it up and then take it wherever you need, using it on its own battery or running it plugged in. It's easy to adjust and can autofocus for you at different angles and distances.Once signed into my Google Home I was easily able to have all my accounts and streaming services ready to use.Also found it very easy to use in other ways. I did the screen mirroring with my phone, again was very easy and connected up in a couple minutes after downloading the app, and was able to play my mobile games on a huge screen, no lag I noticed either.Next, I used the HDMI to try out the Nintendo Switch, again with great results with no lagging.The sound quality of the speaker is actually pretty good too, and has a decent volume range. Though it's nice that Bluetooth is an option, as I have some very good headphones.Most importantly the picture quality was much better than I expected. Especially since I don't have a projector screen and was using my wall/ceiling. Was very happy with how clear and crisp the picture was.Overall I think this has such great features it the remote control, great apps and menu, Bluetooth, and so many ways to connect and use this. The versatility is great and we have already been using this on almost a daily basis in the last month.

It also comes with a protective cloth drawstring bag.It’s rechargeable so you can put it wherever you want without worrying about looking for a plug socket. You can however, use the charging cable to directly power it from the mains. The cable measures 1.5m.Turn on the projector and aim it at a blank white wall or projector screen. After a few seconds, the autofocus figures out how far away the wall is and adjusts the projection size and focus accordingly. The further away you move the projector from the wall, the bigger the screen area becomes. If you accidentally nudge the projector, it will automatically refocus the picture for you.You need to pair the remote control then connect the projector to your WiFi, phone or computer. On the side of the machine is a USB port and an HDMI port if you need to connect that way. Cables are not included.Netflix / Prime / You Tube are pre-installed and you’ll need to have subscriptions to use them. You’re given the option to sign into your Google account (if you have one) and from there, you’ll have access to additional apps.The sound quality is really good, but you can connect the projector to a soundbar or Bluetooth speaker to get an even better experience.It’s a nicely built, attractive machine that works well, is very simple to use and it barely makes a sound. Sound quality is good and the picture quality is excellent. I’d recommend it.
