They bend very easily so no restraint for movement, it's more like not having a shoe on which is important when participating in taekwondo, with no strings getting in the way (although one of mine did kind of bother the side of my foot. And after a days use they picked up a permanent crease. But over all they're very useful in taekwondo events, I do think it's a bit over priced but still they work well for what they're for. There's not really any cushion in the bottom so they wouldn't be comfortable to wear all day long.
