I will say what I always say about Alvins cables, well made and perfectly suited to their intended task, their isn't a lot more one can say, so far I haven't had one break or fail. on me in anyway across multiple devices, cameras, microphones, monitors, in both the studio and on location.. I don't see this being any different! How I Rate - ***** Don’t think, just buy it! - **** Nothing to complain about, I’d spend my own money on this. - *** Does what it should but there may be better alternatives - ** Problems or issues encountered that outweigh any benefits. - * Run for the door!

Exactly what I needed. I ordered this cable for a friend’s rig. I needed a d-tap to 4 pin power (xlr) for extra power from a v-mount power distributor and this cable is perfect. The quality feels fine and the plastic on the d-tap connection feels fine. I like that the cable is coiled, which reduces its length on shorter runs but it does extend quite a bit.

Perfect way to use a larger battery or with some mods I've made a DC power adaptor on my Sony FS7 using the expantion ports XLR 4 power in. This is great as it means the camera is lighter being able to use a waist mounted battery system when portable and be able to run the camera from the main when it is stationary. The cable is that silicone/anti-kink style material but feels nice in the hand and with it being a nice bright and vibrant red you can easily see it when it is in a dark studio so you are aware of what the cable does.
