Designed with a simplified interface for seniors and minimalists, it supports worldwide GSM and UMTS bands, Bluetooth 2.1, and requires an AT&T Micro SIM. ## Description

Design and Call Quality The Breeze IV would fit perfectly well into any flip-phone lineup from the last decade. It's a large, solid, plastic phone at 4.2 by 2.1 by .7 inches (HWD) and 3.9 ounces, with a 128-by-128, 1.4-inch color screen on the front and a 3-inch, 240-by-400 LCD screen inside. The number keys are big and easy to press, and there are three speed-dial buttons above the main keypad. The phone defaults to a simplified UI that's text-heavy and very easy to use. You can also switch it to a more traditional icon-based menu, but if you're interested in doing that, you should buy a smartphone. RF reception here is excellent, but call quality left a lot to be desired. Earpiece audio is loud enough but slightly muddy, and transmissions through the mic were scratchy, with noticeable background hiss. The speakerphone is loud but harsh, and transmissions through the speakerphone were scratchy and hissy as well. With 2100MHz as well as AT&T's 2G and 3G bands, the Breeze IV will roam worldwide. Battery life, at 5 hours, 15 minutes of 3G talk time, was unimpressive. I'm baffled as to why the Breeze doesn't have a standard headphone jack for wired headsets (you need to find headsets that work with a micro USB port, or use an adapter which isn't included), but at least it supports Bluetooth 2.1 for both music and voice dialing. AT&T's proprietary GPS navigation package is also available here, for $9.99/month. The Breeze can be used as a modem for your laptop with the appropriate plan, but as it's only at relatively slow HSPA 3.6 3G speeds, we don't recommend it. A little bit of trivia for you: Think this looks like a phone from 2006? That's when the Breeze IV's chipset, the Qualcomm QSC6270, launched.

Review: Great old folk phone! - We don't do smartphones in this house since the business is here and we're both around the computer pretty much most of the time so we don't need a fancy phone (and the data plans that go with them...who needs data when you have computers, tablets, laptops and netbooks at your fingertips 95% of the time and of that other 5%, you shouldn't be on your cellphone anyway?) I like that it takes better pictures than my old phone (and at 3 MP it's over twice as good as my old Samsung). I'm not fond of the texting setup, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. And I don't like that I can't put a subject with the photos I send to my Facebook wall, that kind of sucks, but first world problems, right? I'd recommend this phone for someone who just wants a basic phone. If you want bells and whistles, this isn't it.
Review: Not as good as the Breeze II - I bought this phone because my Pantech Breeze II fell apart. They've added some new features but I sure don't like the texting program. It's much more complicated than the II and takes several steps to do a text. I wish they had just left it alone....these upgrades didn't help. It's still not loud enough on the rings or the listening volume. I wear hearing aides, but the sound just doesn't come through loud enough. I find myself having to ask people to repeat. Sometimes they sound muffled. I love the small size, perfect for my pocket and I've gotten used to the keyboard (it has 3 letters on each key) I don't mind putting up with that so I can have a smaller phone. I don't need or want a smartphone so this one was a good size and does what I need it to do Still wish the volume were louder all around..

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great old folk phone!
*by L***T on April 17, 2014*

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the better flip phones available
*by D***W on June 16, 2018*

Replaced an old flip phone with this newer model. I didn't want to pay for a smart phone service and this phone doesn't require the extra charge with AT&T. I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. I needed a phone I could hear, which is often a problem on these flip phones. It took a few different ringtones before I got the "boogie" ring that I can hear fine. The only complaint I have with this phone is the screen is impossible to see in direct sunlight. Otherwise, it works great for my calling needs.
