Sand filter pressure valve

This was a little bit cheaper than the OEM product. I would not have known the difference. It works and looks great.

My old pressure valve housing cracked after about 10 years and this replacement worked perfectly. Removing the top of our old filter was a little challenging however i used the filter wrench and tapped it gently with a rubber mallet and after a few minutes it came off - patience is key here as to not break it

Installed this on a pentair triton 2 tr140 sand filter. The hardest part of the installation is to get the black plastic lid off the sand filter to thread on the plastic nut and relief valve onto. To get the black lid off use the supplied sand filter lid wrench (that came with the sand filter) with a lot of force and even a breaker bar will help loosen the lid. Once you get off the lid remove the old pressure relief valve and install the new one. Be sure to lubricate the o-rings on the pressure relief valve and the sand filter lid. Replace the sand filter lid and install the pressure gauge using a good quality Teflon tape. Open up the relief valve before turning on pump. Once water shoots out then close the valve. It seems to help the life of the valve if you open it up before turning pump on and then closing the valve. Great product definitely like the savings!

Installed the Valve Guage and although it took a bit more effort than expected, but went fine and less expensive than other Valve-Guages

Much cheaper than original brand. Installed easily without plumbers tape. Definitely recommend.

Originally rated this a 4 despite the cheap gauge it comes with, but it cracked and started spraying water out in less than 3 months of use. Contacted the seller, MyPoolYard, and they claimed it cracked due to the Teflon tape being applied to the gauge where it threads in to the valve. Teflon cracked it??? o_O They said it was my fault for using Teflon.Despite how absurd that sounds, apparently they make that out to be MY problem, and offered a discount if I wanted to purchase another one. Yah, no thanks, not spending this much money for less than 3 months of use; these things should last for years.Bought the OEM version of it from a different supplier, which came with a much nicer gauge, and - get this - came pre-assembled WITH TEFLON. This cheap replacement, MyPoolYard, and their silly responses are all a joke.
