Skiweb Howsar Portable Quick Door Lock

Great little product!! As it says on the box, it's not a proper lock, and can only be used while you're in the room, but if your aim is to make sure someone can't creep in on you without making a load of noise kicking or banging the door open, this is a perfect product.Note: the directions on how to use it are awful, and I'm guessing (?) are the reason for at least some of the bad reviews below. You have to stick the triangle shaped part INTO the hole on the door frame so that the lock lays flat against the door frame where the latch usually goes and hold it in place as you close the door, not put it around the whole door as I thought from the instructions. This means the latch doesn't actually close, but this doesn't matter as the curved bit holds the door closed (locks it). I've only tried it on a few doors but have had no problems so far.

Tried on a dozen doors that I have access to, it didn't fit on any of them. Might just be bad luck on my part in relation to the available door types, but I got no value out of this product. Giving it the benefit of the doubt it probably works fine in some circumstances, just none for me.

Have used this product as I bought it 2 weeks back for my door without a lock and I am not allowed to get the lock modified as per the house Owner, so I got this one. Its easy to use, and has enough strength. However, saying this it would have been great it the parts were of metal and they can charge £10 for that, still people will buy it.Useful product, and should be better marketed.

Broke straight away after one use

This works fairly well on UK doors. I took it on holiday with me when travelling a bit around the hostels of Eastern Europe. This didn't fit on any doors at all there for some reason. Luckily, everywhere seemed to have half-decent door locks. The product itself is fine but its usefulness relies entirely on the design of the door.

I've used it on two different doors (one was ole 1960's other more modern) worked on both. Great product to give you peace of mind while sleeping that nobody will enter your room. It is a little expensive I thought, but it does the job.

Tried on 5 different types of door. Very easily defeated device, but it is cheap. Would definitely NOT depend on this when staying in hotels.

Bought it for my girlfriend at Uni who doesn't have a lock on her door. I wasn't sure it would work due to the latch being bigger than the plastic latch on the product but it works fine for her and helps her be less nervous when she's at home.
