Boat Ring Hatch Pull Flush Lift, Flush Ring Pull, Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel, 8 Pcs Free Mount Screws

Bought this hatch pull not for a boat but for an in-deck storage box. It worked very well. It is somewhat not easy to install as you need to take out some material with a router, but that done it is just four screws. It is made of brass, I believe, with a chrome cover. No signs of rust so far after several winter months. It is completely flush with the surface, that was one of my requirements. I would recommend it for small to medium size openings, it is not big.

This is a very nice and good-looking piece of hardware. I am using it on a floor hatch and I needed it to fit flush with the rest of the floor so nobody would trip over it. Since this hatch pull requires a flush fit you will need some way to carve out the wood on the hatch door so that it will fit flush with the surface of the door. A plunge router (or maybe a Dremel tool) is the best way to do this. I photocopied the bottom of the hatch pull to get an image of the part that that would go below the surface of the wood, and then I traced an outline of that shape on the hatch door. Then I used a plunge router to carefully remove the wood that needed to be removed until the hatch pull fit flush with the rest of the door. Note: I did a practice trim on a different piece of plywood before doing the actual work just to make sure I could do it successfully on the actual door. It looks great and fits tight as a drum. This is very nice hardware and looks great as long as you are careful and willing to spend the time necessary to do a good installation job.

The quality of this product is good, but it was a bit to small for the application that i used it for.

The Hatch Pull works as expected. But, the handle is a little sharp, and it rotates past 90 degrees when open, so it tends to want to pinch and cut your fingers if you're not careful when opening it. The screw heads are too big for the countersinks and do not sit anywhere near flush. Don't know why they give you 8 screws when it only takes 4, but that's ok. You have to make either a large rectangular or a complicated shaped clearance cut in the wood underneath the body of the hatch pull in order to clear the depressed area that the handle sits in. Other than that, it works, it looks good, is supposedly stainless steel, appears to be heavy duty, and is relatively inexpensive.

The handles appear durable and well made although one of the pair I ordered opens up wider than the other. No matter, they will function fine. My biggest issue is that the screws that were included for mounting are clearly the wrong size. They fit in the holes alright but are bigger in diameter than they should be. Believe that they are a #10 and a #8 is what is needed. Otherwise the screw heads rise above the plane of the installed handle. Fortunately I have a decent hardware store close by and was able to get the correct screw.Mystifying that nobody noticed that.

Honestly looks great, used it for a hatch on my casting deck and it does the job well

I bought this product to install on a crawlspace access door in a closet. Since things were going to rest on top of the door, I wanted a handle that lay flush with the flooring. The handle itself does that, but the screws that attach the handles do not. Furthermore, you can not really offset the screws because of the metal plate. The result is not a deal-killer (it is still mostly flat) but there is a noticeable bump when I lay things on top of the access panel.

I was very disappointed because the hinges were very small & the add showed 2 12.99 so I thought it would be 2 for 12.99! It wasn’t they were 12.99 each

Excellent latch, well made & classy. The extra $5.40 + tax for the 8 screws is not worth it. The screws do not countersink all the way down. Now we need to buy new screws that fit, or try to ream out the holes so the original screws will fit in all the way flush. Please just buy the latch & find your owns screws. I've let the seller know several days ago, but no reply.

Decent latch. The stainless portion seems well made. Two small things... the mirror stainless finish is not on the eyelet portion of the latch it is kind of a full finish where you out your finger to access the latch. Second issue is the screws provided with this are too big for the counter sunk pre drilled holes. So all the work it takes to recess this handle into whatever material and then the screws are not even flush. Decent handle but two minor issues.

This item is made to allow opening of a flush / flat cover or hatch. There is no finger relief to reach handle. The only way to open it is by turning it upside down.Do Not buy, this is a design error not a poorly made part.

The stainless steel screws provided with this item have heads that are too big and don't level with the plate.
