Good product
I have used several now. The only issues to date are as follows: On an oil pan, I did not seat the threads deeply enough and the threads leaked. I had to drill a couple of them out and replace. On the second run, I used thread locker, took the inserts deeper so they did not partially extend below the engine block and also used a gasket sealing compound on the screws and around the pan. It is working well-no drips to date. The only other issue is be careful when seating the threads. As you are nearing the bottom, make sure you can withdraw the tool. It could be due to me not tapping deeply enough but the insert constricts as it gets deeper. This prevents the insertion tool (screws the insert in place) from being removed. You can't unscrew the thread without breaking the ears at the end or pull it our. In my case, I broke the ears off. Lesson learned....

Fixed
Worked great, not easy to remove broken bolt in aluminum block

Works fine - not the best quality steel but that's OK. No need to pay more. Lots of inserts included
stripped a thread on an aluminum manifold - dang!!! This saved the day at a much lower cost than other brands. The kit includes a bunch (didn't count but looked like about 20) whereas more expensive kits I've bought only included one. Maybe not the best quality steel but plenty good enough

Great kit at a great price
This kit helped me fix threads in a mountain bike frame with ease. This same kit was almost twice the cost at my local auto part store. It shipped quick, and in good condition. There was no packaging (not a big deal to me) and everything was in a zip lock bag which was nice and secure. Decent measure to take on saving money for the end customer. I dig it. :)

Worx! Perfectly!
Used this on my 2014 cruze timing cover valve cover bolt holes! If it dont make sense go to nxt review. Well the holes do have bottoms but definitely use a rag or towel to keep shavings out of oil or crank case. Keep them straight and they work perfectly. Torque to spec np. Good product.

They will โprobablyโ work for you.
This set is just OK. I used them to repair the rocker arm bolts on my mower engine(kohler command). The tap and drill were great, I had zero problems using them in aluminum. The helicoil install tool is very cheaply made. It would bend slightly as I screwed in the helicoils and become stuck in the hole. The helicoils themselves were crimped in the wrong spot(just slightly off) so the tabs didnโt break off cleanly. I strongly recommend only screwing in the helicoils until they are just below the surface, that way you can remove them if the tab doesnโt break off right. Just pry up the top coil and pull them out to remove. Once the helicoils were installed, itโs hard to get your bolt screwed in because the top of the helicoil has sharp edges. At the end of the day these did work for me, but they were more trouble than name brand. If youโre determined to save money, just know that youโre making a gamble here.

Great for my 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco
Stripped one of the holes for my valve cover. This worked great! This was my first time doing anything like this and I'm by no means a mechanic. You're definitely going to need a drill to be able to complete this job. My advice, go slow and make sure that you are drilling straight down into the hole and not at an angle. Very straight forward (watch a video or two before you go ahead and do it)!

Works
Had to drill out an oil pan hole, since was cross-threaded and snapped off the bolt. I was nervous since never used these, but was pretty easy with included drill bit and tap and install tool. One con is I had to re-tap the thread, but came out perfect. Thank you.

Saved my engine casting
Saved my engine casting. Coils Worked great. The install tool was not so great. Modified it to match the shape of a brand name tool

Excellent and complete set

Did the job
Not the best quality but it did the job. Had to chase the insert threads with a tap to get the bolt to thread in.

Works as it should.
Came in handy on a thread repair. Took a bit how to figure it out but holds up over time.

Will work but not smooth
The kit will work, but installation is not smooth. I use this to fix aluminum thread my oil cooler (which can be removed from cad) if you are in some tight area, donโt buy this. Installation tool is super weak I have to modify by myself. Tapping tool works but the diameter is just a tiny little bit smaller which makes the coil installation surprisingly hard (always cross thread).
