Never using anything else
I love this soap bar. My face always feels deeply cleaned even if it was just a quick scrub. I have very sensitive skin (even a normal shower effects it), this bar does not irritate my skin at all.

Trendy but not very useful
This is a 2 star for me. Charcoal needs to sit for a bit to be effective at drawing oils out. Putting it in a bar just strikes me more as an effort to capitalize on a trendy product as opposed to making something really useful.I don't care for the peppermint in it either. It does tingle a bit, but that has nothing to do with whether your skin's getting clean or not. Any mint will make skin tingle. The 1 pore strip it comes with I didn't care for either, for different reasons. I just find it difficult to use. It's hard to get to stay where you want it, and I couldn't get it to stick around the tip of my nose, which is where I need it the most. It's soap, the mint tingles, the beads scrub, the charcoal is rinsed off before it has a chance to do its job, or you sit there 5-10 mins being bored. It's a 2 star for me.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - It's an Amazon program where many things you buy every day will generate a small donation from Amazon to the charity of your choice. Menthol/Peppermint Bar, Plus Nose Strip
The main reason to buy this Biore combo is for the charcoal bar; the single-use charcoal pore strip is more of a sample, although it does an amazing job of ripping out gunk from clogged pores. The charcoal bar is a glycerin-based cleanser that tightens your skin with a refreshing menthol/peppermint coolness. Although the bar isn’t harsh, it does break up and remove oils, shrinking pores but also necessitating a good moisturizer after the fact. The nose strip is, to paraphrase the company, both disgusting and satisfying. After cleansing, you wet your nose and apply the strip. After 10-15 minutes, when the strip is dry and like papier-mâché, you peel off the strip. If you look closely, you’ll see tiny hairs and all the gunk that clings to them. The result is smooth skin with few clogged pores. The charcoal bar, although black, does not stain. I like the odd shape because it’s easy to hold. Although I cannot attest to the ability of the charcoal in this bar to remove impurities, I do like the visual and tactile results.— Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Like the bar soap
My family is trying to move back to bar soap so we've been in a trying different soaps. I had to read the description a few times for this Biore Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar and deep cleansing pore strip. The pore strip was easy to figure out and it performed as expected for the person who uses Biore pore strips. He didn't see much difference with the pore strip in terms of how Biore pore strips generally work so he wasn't disappointed but he wasn't sure what the difference is. However, when he learned that the soap bar could be used for the body as well, he really liked it. He's a little hesitant to use the soap for his face but that may be because he's never used bar soap for his face. It has always been a gel cleanser so I can understand the hesitancy. But he definitely likes the soap for the body as a nice alternative to the gel soap that he uses. So as a rating, the Biore charcoal bar is a 4 star and the pore strip is a standard 4 star since it worked to the standard that he generally expects from Biore pore strips.

Useless and Uncomfortable
The "Deep Cleansing" Charcoal Pore Strip is a waste of money because it does virtually nothing. The one thing it did was cause discomfort. After pressing the strip to your nose, it hardens like papier-mâché. This makes your nose itch for fifteen minutes before you can take it off. It hurts quite a bit when you pull it off. I didn't see any visible change. The charcoal bar is slightly better, but still pretty pointless. It makes your skin tingle pleasantly from the peppermint. After I started using it, my skin broke out by my hairline, but I am not sure if it was caused by the bar or not. The bar did nothing to clear up my existing black heads.Don't waste your money, it won't "free your pores" as promised.

Great product, but wish it came with more strips
I think that the bar and the nose strip both work great. The bar makes my skin feel smoother and cleaner, and the pore strip worked well, too. I can't say that the strip worked better than other pore strips, but it certainly seems to work as well as others. The bar lathers up nicely and doesn't have any unpleasant smell, and it's easy to rinse clean.I do wish that some more strips were included, even if the price were a bit higher. The bar and strip are a nice combination, but the bar lasts a long time and you only get one strip.

Wow, they are not kidding!
I have never seen a product work as quickly or as effectively as this charcoal penetrating soap.I have battled acne for decades, and nothing has eliminated oil and dirt and closed pores faster or more efficiently than this. The box promises that 10 minutes will clean away weeks of dirt buildup, and I did not believe it until I rinsed my face and low and behold saw much smaller pores on my nose, chin and forehead and tiny invisible blackheads on the tape I'd taken off. This stuff is amazing, and it is well worth the price for results this fast and this good.
