Bringing my girlfriend for her first camping trip! I wanted her to be comfortable but I’m also a little cheap.lol So I needed to get a pad to sleep on, I bought two of these so we could sleep together and I loved that they buttoned together. I will get a third one eventually so we have some extra room but this worked out even better than expected because she deflated hers a little more than I did for my side so she could sleep comfortable. And my pillow was less inflated than hers as well. So with it being inexpensive, very durable, and easy to inflate/deflate.. The FreeLand wasn't bad and is more compact but that's because it's not as thick and the Active Era actually fills up by itself and I only had to fill it up with maybe 2 or 3 breaths to my desired firmness. What initially attracted me too was the tufted characteristic of the pad because I felt like it would help disperse the pressure more evenly. I don't know if it does or if it's just because it's thicker, but all I know is that it is comfortable. I found that the best practice is to open the valve several hours before bed time for maximum expansion of the foam inside. It comes with clips to secure it while rolled up and fit easily back into the carry case when done using. The mat held air and never leaked. The main valve is very well made and easily opens and closes.The negatives:If you are heavier set guy like me, it may not provide enough hip and shoulder support. My wife and kids enjoyed the mat and do not have any issues. The pillow inflates easily, but takes a little more effort to deflate. The pillow has the standard pool inflator nipple that you have to squeeze just right to let air out.
