The zwilliger knife organizer is compact and fits all my kitchen knives. I can space my knives to easily retrieve them. Knives 6" or less fit in the shorter slots. You can put a longer knife in a short slot as well. I like that the organizer is solid wood. It might be better if it had a slot for a steel, but the organizer doesn't take much space so you will have room for your steel and scissors, with space left over.My knives are mostly large old high carbon steel French knives and I thought that they would not fit in such a small organizer. My boning knife, 6" chef knife and paring knives will fit in the short slots. I often stick an 8" chef knife in a short slot and It seems fine. Being solid wood, I am not worried about it falling apart or dulling a blade. We don't store steak knives with my kitchen knives, so a smaller organizer works for us.My wife likes that we don't have a knife block on the island.

I love this knife block! We tried two others, but their quality did not compare.

My knife drawer is 6.25" wide, and the old IKEA knife organizer I had been using was getting cramped. The dimensions in the Amazon listing showed this as over 9" wide, but the proportions of the product image showed it to be narrower, and the Zwilling product page said this was 6.1". So I took a chance and ordered this - just switched it out and it's a perfect fit.It's much more spacious than it seems - I have six large knives in the bottom slots: 5" and 8" chefs knives, a bread knife, a boning knife, a santoku and a utility knife. And two paring knives and two steak knives in the top slots, with room for another couple small knives.The only potential issue might be that the tip of my 8" chefs knife barely clears the top of the block, which might be a hazard (see pic). My drawer is quite deep so I can push it far enough back so that it's not a hazard, but if you have shallow drawers you may need to think about placement of your knives - I'd put any large knives with exposed tips on the edge slots to minimize the change of catching yourself on it.

Exactly what I wanted. I recently got new cabinets and found myself with a nice sized drawer for my knives. I shopped in stores and on line looking for something of good quality at a decent price that would fit, and came across this. So I purchased two to put side by side in the drawer and they fit prefectly. They look great, are of excellent quality and protect & organize my knives. Everything is so organized that I keep opening the drawer to take a peek! There's even space for the honing tool. Since I just had one honing tool and two blocks, I used that space in the second one for a large meat fork laid on its side and it fit like a glove. Now my countertops are cleared of my old block and I know my knives are going to stay in good condition. Very fast service too; I received my order in two days. I'm very pleased.

Works really well to replace a countertop knifeblock

Beautiful and sturdy, but only about 6" wide. Our drawer is 9" wide, so we are disappointed that it doesn't fill the drawer as anticipated.

This is a nice size and I really like that it feels solid and good quality. All our knives fit well even the bread knife so that’s also good

We like to keep our countertop clear. Drawer knife storage was the answer. I own a very high quality set of Japanese knives and want a knife block that does not dull the edges. In the Zwilling, the blade only touches at the back corner, leaving the blade suspended.The spacing of the slots also works well. The take the least amount of space, yet allow you to pick the knives up easily. I could not improve on their design.

I wanted to eliminate the clutter on my counter and move my knives from a block to a drawer. This was the perfect solution. Fits 6 large and 6 small knives including longer knives with thick handles.

Love the product, just as expected. However would have loved for it to have been suitable for 12 large knives but it’s really best for 6 large and 6 smaller steak knife size.
