Short But Comprehensive Book for Prospective Shadow/T-Series Buyer
This is a short book, but it covers all the bases on the Silver Shadow and Bentley T-Series. It is written mostly for someone thinking of buying one of these 1965-1980 vehicles, the first of the true "modern" Rolls-Royces and Bentleys, with monocoque bodies, disc brakes, improved ride damping, etc. It has all the technical information, plus cost data for repairs and parts (in British pounds), but not too much on prices for the cars themselves. Unless the book were updated regularly, I guess that would be difficult to include. Bobbitt does go over in detail potential mechanical and cosmetic problem areas that a buyer should cover, or rather uncover, during inspection. It has some nice photos, but it is not a coffee table book with a zillion photos as are so many books on R-R and Bentley. All in all, if you're interested in the Silver Shadow and its derivatives, the most popular series ever built by the Crewe factory with 37,000+ sold, and especially if you are thinking of buying one, I'd invest the small price for this book. The Kindle book is cheaper and is easy to use.

Perfect buyers guide to take with you to inspect a car!
This guide turned out to be a smaller than I expected - but that's probably its best feature in that, once you've familiarized yourself with it, it will make a great pocket guide on site when inspecting a car. These Silver Shadows are complicated cars and for the non-mechanic to remember all the inspection items is practically impossible. That's what makes this particular guide so great...it goes with you. It's informative, provides a repair pricing model and helps separate the good cars from the bad. For it's price, you can't beat it.

a great guide for the beginner and prspective buyer
Even though I bought this book AFTER the car, I found it very interesting and revealing. Malcolm Bobbit seems to ba a legend for car guides and therefore the book contains many insights and hints. The pictures could show more details but still are satisfactorily clear.I still wonder how I can grade my car with his system after having bought it.I would have prefered to buy the more thorough research on the RR SS I which also has been published by the author with the same publishing house.A very handy little buyers guide showing all the traps and pitfalls of this car.

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Bentley T-Series: The Essential Buyer's Guide
This is what a buyer's guide should look like! Small enough to fit in a jacket pocket but still packed with details, including appropriate questions to ask the vendor and, just as importantly, yourself as a potential buyer. The author segregates the purchase process into review stages, culminating in a detailed checklist and rating calculation. Thorough and honest, this is a very useful book. Highly recommended.
