Turn it on, let the catapult sling, and turn it off while the sling thing is at the top; there now should be space between that thing and the ball. I hope this helps you

Pretty quiet when running but when it throws the ball there is a louder noise.

This machine isn’t capable of pop flys, fielding practice, soft toss, or anything else baseball related. This machine is a piece of crap, I owned 2 thinking the 1st one was by accident. 2nd machine was equally as bad as the first. Sklz makes some quality product when it comes to cutting edge training technology, they however suck at the off the shelf type product like this and their hitting t’s.
