great book!
Great stories of the pioneers of the faith! It has many stories of the servants of Lord Jesus who succeeded or failed due to lack of discernment.

... of the history and lives of some of the greatest generals in the faith over the last 2 centuries
This book is a collection of the history and lives of some of the greatest generals in the faith over the last 2 centuries. From William Branham to Amee Semple McPherson, this book includes detailed accounts of what these amazing woman of God did right and what they did wrong. From personal victories to personal defeats and the highs and lows of ministry this book breaks things down in a way that encourage, challenge, and inspire anyway seeking to do great works for God.The major outlines of the book are to be available to the Holy Spirit and to stay in communion with Him and community. There are story upon story and life upon life of what God can do through people who live lives that are laid down before the Lord. However, I will say that it’s the tragedies that line the pages of this book that I feel are the most important. Family is one of the biggest points. Men like John G. Lake have done great works for God at the expense of their family, I don’t think that is Gods plane and this book talk about taking care of your family first. Community is an aspect of ministry people can’t look over. There is strength in being surrounded by amazing people that will challenge you and support you in your endeavors.Strengths:1.) I would say the books initial strength is the way that it’s written. It invites you into the story and lives of these people and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s detailed and informative and in partnering with the Holy Spirit you can see how people rose and how you feel. Definitly learning from their mistakes.2.) I believe there is amazing impartation in this book. It’s inspirational yes, but more importantly than that it’s a book where the same mantles can be released to those who ask for it.Weaknesses:1.) It would be nice if it was in chronological order. Some aspects as far as dates weren’t and that would help. Also if people were in order chronologically as well that would help. It could be called, Gods Generals from 1880-1970 or whatever.2.) I think Liardon had tremendous access to the lives and artifacts of these amazing men and woman of God. If He had access to the journals and things it would be nice to have more specifics and even pictures of those journal entries. I think it would just be neat to see.

Excellent!
I’m surprised this book isn’t circulated more. It has a wealth of information, all in one place. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. You will be rewarded from reading this book.

A great book on God’s own generals , how some failed and how some succeeded
This is a chronologically narration of exploits of great generals of various battle fields of God’s gospel of salvation for humanity. The book is well researched on the lives of God’s ministers asWilliam J. Seymour, on Azusa Street, Los Angeles,Aimee Semple McPherson,Smith Wigglesworth,Kathryn Kuhlman,Robert Liardon renders their stories in an easy to read style but is very objective showing clearly how some of these General lost focus such as Alexander Dowie by veering away from Gispel and healing into extraneous issues such as building zion City. The ending segments of lives of Kathryn Kuhlman and Aimee Semple McPherson is a great lesson on the inestimable, and irreplaceable roles of a spouse in the life of a general or most pastors. This is also a great class of lessons given by world class mentors such as Smith Wigglesworth, though semi illiterate, one of the most famous tele- evangelist of all times, Oral Roberts. This book will satisfy immense thirst of all seekers and train even specialists or experts in Evangelism, church leadership and Christian warfare especially in what I call the four aspects of power: The word, faith,Prayer, Sacrifice and giving

Insight into the walk of the Spirit and His Power
Inspiring and informative. Every person born again can have add much of God's power and blessing in their lives as we want if we count Him worthy of our time and all we are. This book also highlight that we are all prone to mistakes no matter how much Good is working through us. Following Christ requires not only devotion but humility and sensitivity to Holy Spirit - His ministry in or lives is the key to our successful execution of God's will and the longevity of our ministry. God's generals were normal people who had enough of "how things are" and discovered that Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil in every form they manifest. We get an insight into were they came from and their humanity and the Lord's grace and how far and how closely He is still willing to work with His people. A great read and a great challenge to anyone who is serious about being a disciple of Jesus Christ the only Lord.
