BrevilleBBM800XL/231 Fixed Paddle

I got this to replace the collapsible paddle, which is covered with a dark non-stick surface that starts to peel off after repeated use (and we use our bread machine 2-3 times per week). I went through two of the collapsible paddles, thinking maybe I'd just gotten a bum one or somehow scratched it during washing, but then decided it was a Breville problem and that I need to try something else. I saw that this paddle has a different surface, so decided to give it a try, and just live with the deep paddle indentation in the middle couple of slices of bread. We haven't had it long enough to know if this grey surface holds up better, BUT something (the quality of the kneading??) is REALLY different. I make the exact same loaf every time, and the loaves are uniformly denser and less fluffy than the ones I made with the collapsible paddle. So it works, but my bread isn't as good. We've long since lost our instruction booklet, so differences between the paddles may be clearly laid out by Breville, but be forewarned if you too are without the instructions.

Haven't used it yet. It is plastic which is different than the one that came with my bread machine.

This paddle worked great, until it broke - the top of the paddle broke off the stem. Only had it about a year. Worked great up to that point.

The paddle is normal Breville quality and works good.
