Love your sound and want to expand it?
The key to success with this pedal is having a basic bass sound that you really love. This pedal will augment that with what it does very well. However, if you're looking for an overdrive to transform your sound, you're probably going to be underwhelmed with this one. The pedal has a unique midrange honk to it that might not blend with your amp's original sound in the way that you expect it to. If you're looking for that to supplement the way your killer amp already sounds, then you might get some major mileage out of the pedal. The quality of the Signature Drive is excellent, and the ideas incorporated into it are fantastic. The blending control and the dedicated effects inserts on both the clean and overdriven sections are well-implemented and offer lots of possibilities.Definitely try before you buy, if you can. For my purposes, it really didn't cut the mustard . . . but it is high-quality and seems very well-made.

This pedal makes it easy to dial in some great sounds
Whoa. This pedal completely nails the sound I've been searching for. I don't like a lot of "stuff" between my bass and the speakers and the Billy Sheehan Signature Drive takes the place of a compressor and a drive pedal and allows me to tailor the amount of clean and grit that gets passed along upstream. The pedal works well with either my Sansamp Bass Driver Deluxe or my '70s-era Kustom amp (with red metal-flake tuck and roll, no less). You get a lot of bang for the buck with this pedal.

True Billy Sheehan Signature Sound
Def a must for bassists who want the Billy Sheehan tone.I got it as a gag, since the price wasn't too bad.Come to find out it sounds massive with my Warwick, and eh with my Fender. But then again we are talking about Warwick and their massive tone lol. So I'm not surprised. All in all a good pedal. BUT it most likely won't be on my main pedalboard. It'll stay on the shelf for when I'm in need of that Sheehan tone.

Got my old-school sound back.
I have been playing since the mid 60s, and still have the 72 Rickenbacker and a gigantic Acoustic 370. I have been searching for years for that same sound minus the weight and astounding volume you don't need in most places. You know, that very full but highs-are-raunchy-but-not-clicky that you get when you try to get high end out of an 18" folded-horn cabinet. Think John Entwistle, Chris Squire or Geddy Lee. This little box nails it with drive wound, tone 3/4 up, drive channel about 1/4 and clean at about 3/4.

Worth it
The pedal is good if you are looking for some grit while preserving the low frequencies. This will probably not meet your needs if you are looking for an extreme fuzz.Useful little compression as well

Best distortion for bass
Just got this 1 day ago, I have been messing around with it. I love that is has 2 loop channels, it has a great range. From a light fuzz to a full on crunch. Shipping was super fast, over all money well spent.

One of the best
I love this overdrive. Besides making you sound like Billy Sheehan instantly, it's really versatile. I use it to give me just a bit of dirt and character and it works great. And between the mix knob, the tone and the compressor, you have a lot of sonic options.

Noisy
Pedal is too noisy. I hate hiss when I am not playing. This is my second distortion pedal. I may never find the sound I am looking for.
