Works
We bought two of these to replace the original doors on our 1980s vintage heatilator fireplaces. Old doors were ugly and worn out. These are not hard to install, but not super easy either. Came well packed with good instructions. We bought them almost 5 years ago, and I dont think there was a YouTube install video at that time, but the instructions were sufficient. If you're a reasonably skilled DIY person, you can install them.In 5 years, we have no complaints. Easy to operate and clean, and no finish or other issues. The instructions clearly state NOT to burn the fire with the glass closed. This is tempered glass, not ceramic like in a wood stove door. That is a different material and these doors will withstand some heat, but NOT the heat of a raging blaze close to the glass. Pictures in other reviews with broken glass from a fire is what results if you don't follow the instructions. We do burn with the doors closed and have not had any issues, but....we always make sure the fire is as close to the back of the fire box as possible, and our old heatilator fireplace has intake vents on the inside front of the fire box, so in our situation, it doesn't allow the glass to get very hot. Just be careful and read the instructions.Overall, very happy with the two we bought. The price point is good, and quite happy with the fact we have done five winters with nightly fires, with no issues with the door sets yet.

Beautiful! Exceeded expectations!
This thing is sturdy! And stunning. It was super easy to install with my husband and it looks gorgeous. The doors are heavy duty and stay latched with the magnetic latch. Did I mention it’s stunning? So beautiful

could use more insulation
Pro: Looks nice, pretty easy to install (two people needed).Con: Less than half of the necessary insulation was included. I added the white insulation; the tan insulation came with the product. The inner screen doors open outward, but the handles on them are very small; just a minor gripe. All in all, I recommend this product. It should fit a wide range of openings.

Better availability and pricing about standard
Thw title seems like a low star review but let me explain. If you go to a store they won't have what you need in stock. It will be a special order. If you go to an independent specialty store it will.be vastly overpriced. I mean starting at $500. So this was the best option. Install wqs straight forward and finish wqs as advertised

Really nice fireplace doors
These doors look great but I am glad I purchased the extra fiberglass insulation they recommended with it. I have a stone fireplace that isn't flat on the front where it mounts. The extra insulation filled all the gaps. If the front of your fireplace is not perfectly flat you should get the extra insulation and stick it to the front of the fireplace before mounting the doors. Infact I think it would be a good idea to use it even if it is flat.

Pleasant Hearth's (GHP) Joke of a System and Amazon's Incompetence
Upon receiving our fireplace glass door set, we discovered that the left side glass portion was sticking out of the metal frame by 1/2 inch, resulting in the two doors not closing correctly. The paper from the manufacturer said, " Please contact us before you return the product to the store.....". So, I thought I would give it a try. When we contacted Pleasant Hearth (GHP) to get a new left side door, they said we would receive a replacement part (left side only) set within 5-7 business days. Nine business days later, we contacted GHP to inquire about the status of our replacement door set. They told us that the part was out of stock and that the replacement part would not arrive for at least another three-four weeks. When asked why we were not alerted of the item being out of stock, they told us there was no system to alert customers when they place a replacement part that is out of stock. Since that would be out of the Amazon return window period, I decided to get a replacement unit from Amazon instead.Somehow, Amazon Customer Service managed to make our experience worse. When we contacted Amazon regarding returning our defective door set, we made it abundantly clear that we didn't have a shipping box. The Amazon rep stated that UPS would pick up the defective door set. However, we still decided to wrap the defective door set in multiple layers of bubble wrap just to be safe. When a UPS driver came to pick it up, he refused to take the defective item as it was fragile and told us to take it to a local UPS store, a contradiction to the service rep. So, we carried our 40-pound defective door set to our local UPS store, only to be told that we needed to purchase a shipping box, another contradiction to the service rep.We contacted Amazon again to inquire about these contradictions, only to be placed on hold for 45 minutes, and ultimately told to put the defective fireplace door set in the box of the new fireplace door set, which (unsurprisingly) had not arrived.Unfortunately, GHP's joke of a system and Amazon's incompetence largely contributed to such a negative customer experience over a fireplace door set.
