Fits My Vintage Butterfly Frames 🙌
3 vintage butterfly frames (non-folding) made of a single tube of steel recently came into my possession. I looked at Circa50, D&J Patio and then these Algoma covers as replacement options. Circa50 was the most expensive. My frames were a size D, the largest and most expensive covers based on frame size in the outdoor vinyl material, $65 plus $7 shipping, $72 total for EACH cover. Hefty. No free shipping here after a certain purchase amount. D&J were marginally cheaper. Although I wanted to keep these chairs indoors, I wanted to invest in outdoor quality covers. For D&J Patio's "Space Weave" covers, they came out to be $49 a pop. Plus shipping and taxes to my area for 3 covers, the math came out to about $57 a pop. Still pricy. I requested samples from Circa50 weeks ago. Never heard from them and I've also heard that D&J is slow to ship and their website isn't completely accurate as to what is in stock (so I've heard)... Their website also looks like it was built in 1997 and never changed. I didn't have much faith in neither to deliver. The only reason I looked at these other options was because I wanted WHITE covers. Not tan, beige, cream, "natural" or off-white, but a crisp, clean white. I soon learned from a blog that D&J's white covers clearly have a tan banding around the edges. Boo. 👎 Crossed them off my list. Algoma doesn't have white, only "natural" so I opted for black, my next choice. To be honest, the fit isn't the best. But they fit, which is a very good thing for these frames that are 31-33" at the top widest points to 29" across the bottom. Reference the Circa50 diagrams on their site for where I measured if there's confusion on that. My frames are basically Size D. I hope my photos help somewhat. The top fits fine but the bottom is quite taut. I hope with time the fabric will stretch and relax a bit. They're comfortable and feel hammock-y. I'm pleased with the quality stitching and the fact that they're being produced in the USA. Only time will tell if these will really hold up but at $21 with Prime shipping, I can't really complain. I only bought one to test as I got the frames with their beat up faux white leather covers from the previous owner. But once the other covers are really out of commission, I plan to buy another two in black very very soon. I hope Algoma never stops making these! P.S., if you're having trouble putting these covers on your frames, start with one of the top pockets first, then the other... Followed by one of the bottoms and stretch to fit the last one. I'm also pretty sure the size of my frames are the maximum size these will fit on. Because 29" across the bottom was a slight stretch but it all took but a minute or two to make it work. 🙂 Edit: I also know from other reviews these will likely fade in the sun... No problem for me since I plan to keep them indoor-only. If you really want them to last outdoors... Then it's likely best to invest in the Circa50 covers. There was also another review saying they thought these covers were "cheap cheap cheap," but I say they're economical. Look at the price ($21). Also Target no longer sells whatever covers they were talking about. To me these feel durable and good value for the price. I know Target or one of its brands recently released a wooden folding chair but even the reviews for that and the cover it came with was not good (and they don't offer replacement covers). I'll edit my review as time goes on and hopefully I remember to once some time has passed. Also please pay no mind to the lint on the black cover... It was from a pill-y sweater.

Great deal, but for slightly smaller butterfly chairs only.
This product is of excellent quality, the price is great, and the shipping speed was amazingly quick. I have three butterfly chairs - two originals from the early '50s, and one of the slightly smaller, folding, reproduction models of more recent vintage. While the canvas cover I bought could possibly be **made** to fit the older large chair frames with a little stretching, I do not recommend this for reasons of the undue stress and strain it would put on the material and seams long-term. However, it does fit the smaller folding chair perfectly. Covers should fit and hang loosely (like a hammock) and not be stretched tightly. My parents, who owned my older/larger chairs originally, found that out long ago. Covers that are too snug may work for a short time, but will eventually prematurely rip out under use if anyone larger than a child sits in them. And if the chairs ar kept outdoors they will doso in no time at all. Thankfully, I only bought the one cover (as a test) to see what size it was. Sadly, I will still have to go to on of the other on-line vendors to get the larger "size D" covers for the other two chairs that I have.

Nice cover
I bought a set of these for my 2 outdoor butterfly chairs. One chair is an original vintage one and the other is a reproduction, and they’ve got slightly different dimensions. These fit beautifully on both! Now I left the black ones out on the deck all summer long in full sun, from May through October. They did fade some, maybe a 10-15% loss of color. I’m happy with that personally and just tossed them in with Rit Dye for a refreshed black.

Small
Fabric is ok, but concerned it won’t be strong enough to last a few years without tearing at pockets. Would like a a bit thicker material and larger piece so it would cover the bats of frame on side.

Black turned a nasty shade of brown
After a week in the sun, my black butterfly chair outside cover turned an unattractive shade of brown - the inside was still black-ish. I don't know how this happened or what went wrong with the dye the Algoma people used, but the cover I bought a couple of years ago from them is faded but still black-ish. It is not good looking and I don't think I'll purchase another cover from them.

Very good quality
This cover was well made and fit my frame perfectly. Seams were tight and well finished and had no sloppy strings or overhangs. Highly recommend.

Tore in half after 5 months
Tore across the middle after only 5 months. It was only used 1 or 2 times per week by me, a 200 pound man. Fit in the frame fine but now it has to go in the garbage. Don't waste your money on this. Buy a better quality one.
