I own a company that builds custom facilities and we use GrowGrips all the time. They stand up to use and are far more user friendly than alternative materials such as Rockwool (no glass in the fingers). Currently we are using these in commercial applications overseas in armenia and africa, as they are reusable. We also have had a great time using them in aquaponic systems in middle schools, where we cannot use fiberglass based products, as we don't have to worry about kids playing with them or putting them in their mouths. One of the greatest uses for these units is rooting cuttings. Many of our facilities produce large quantities of herbs and fruiting plants. The GrowGrips easily and gently hold the cutting in place while it roots. One client of ours using GrowGrips for starting rose cuttings of root stock. The grips allow the plants to root in a small hydroponic system and then the plant can easily be removed from the grip and planted in soil or media beds, the GrowGrip can then be used again. I use it for my hydroponics lettuce channels. Only problem is it's about 3/4 inch too short. Once in a while, it's slip all the way into the channel and has to be fished out. Pain in the arse.
