Durable and Useful
I wasn't sure if I should purchase a riddle, but I am more than happy that I did. I have used it to plant trees and it has saved me a lot of time from manually picking rocks out of the soil. The riddle is great weeds/vegetative material from the soil. I have sifted a lot of very rocky soil using this riddle and it has held up very well. The grid is a good all purpose size for removing most rocks. The little extra cost is more than worth it.

Very well made, does the job and…
if you’re willing to cut the center out of two 5-gallon bucket lids and glue them top-to-top, you’ll have a very secure bucket-top strainer that fits 3.5, 5, and 7 gallon buckets (they all share the same lid size).

Works good for sifting small amounts of dirt
Works good for sifting small amounts of dirt. Definitely rugged and withstand rough use I would like it better if it fit an average utility bucket well and give 5 Star.

durable and effective
sifted 8-12 cubic feet of soil over the course of a year with my toddler. it was very slow, and maybe not the right tool for that volume, but it was therapeutic and a great activity for a 2 year old to "help" with while we played in the dirt together. Soil was rocky, and I pulled about a truck bed's worth of small rocks out of my garden beds. Absolutely worth it. The riddle shows some signs of wear but is as strong as the day I bought it. I now use it to sift compost. Wish they made another one with a small sieve so I could produce soil for starting seeds

Soil goes through more easily than through wire mesh
Just sifted compost from our compost heap and it did a great job. My previous garden riddle was larger, so heavier to hold - this is just the right size. Also my previous riddle had a wooden rim that rotted over about 20 years as I hung it up outside. Then the old riddle had wire mesh for the sieve and the soil kept getting stuck. This riddle is strong enough to help the soil get through the holes.I chose this because Spear & Jackson made a good spade my family head when I grew up not too far from Sheffield, the company's home. Now made in China, this is a quality product.

Excellent sifter for a small garden.
The media could not be loaded. Excellent value for this sifter. Holes are big enough to let a good amount of soil through but catches large rocks and sticks. You will need this. For some reason a lot of potting soil is being sold with sticks. It sucks the moisture from the soil and strangles the roots of what you are growing. Buy this to have on hand. Left it outside in the rain and have not noticed any rusting in 3 weeks.

Good Quality but Could Use a Handle
This is a very durable product and very useful no doubt. The metal is sturdy but it is a bit hard to hold after a while, as I’ve used this extensively since I got it. My only other gripe is that the holes are a bit big, but this is not the product’s issue, it’s more my issue. Overall, a great product, I would just like a handle on it to make it easier to hold during more tedious tasks.
