worth every penny
packaged very well in double cardboard. came with some kind of "thousand points of light" inspection tag; i'm cynical about those things, but in this case, i have 0 complaints. it was set up well out of the box, absolutely gorgeous, plays well (excellentg action), and sounds fantastic, both plugged and unplugged. the elixirs it comes equipped with hold up well to play. I have extremely acidic touch, and they held up to months of regular non-safe-word play before i finally broke one. Sounded great until it broke! you can buy the higher grade ones if you want, i'm sure they would be even nicer looking, but i very much doubt you'll be disappointed if you choose this. one.

Beautiul guitar, great value!
After much research, I decided to buy the 414ce and am happy that I did. As expected for an Indian rosewood, solid wood guitar from Taylor, the sound is beautiful and the construction is top notch. I had considered two more expensive models - the 714ce and 814ce - but it seemed like the 414ce had 90 percent of the quality at a price point that was $500-1000 cheaper. As an intermediate player, I find this guitar to have great playability and look forward to to using it to grow as a guitarist for years to come.

Too bad a few thousand dollar guitar can't pass a fret rocker test.
I did not purchase this through Amazon but thought I would share my comments. I would have hoped a few thousand dollar guitar would have passed a fret rocker test. High frets can really stop you from adjusting your string height lower to where you want it and eliminating those buzzy strings. Questions to Taylor's website CSR on this fell on deaf ears. So do you want to buy a guitar without holding it in hand first ? Not so sure.
