ThermaCare Cold Wraps Joint Therapy

Have bad back. Used to keep my back from tightening up playing golf. It heated up just as advertised and stayed that way for the whole round and then some.

Hurt my back a few months ago and these were the best thing for me. One lasted quite some time. The packs were spaced just right for the location. The velcro really made adjusting easy. I kept mine in a Ziploc bag in the freezer once opened. Re-freezes quickly. Very hard to find around here.

I'm not sure why these don't have a better rating...I really like them and am about to make a third purchase. These wraps can fit pretty much any size of knee, from myself (5'4" and petite) to my husband (6'7" and not petite). The center has a small opening to help allow for mobility when your leg is wrapped and two long, semi-stretchy pieces that wrap around the leg and velcro on. I like that the cold part only targets the front and sides of the knee and that I can still walk around when it is on. This isn't meant to be a compression wrap or something you wear while running, since it is a bit bulkier, but a big improvement on big square pads or ice packs. The biggest downside is that it isn't supposed to be reused for too long - I have kept re-freezing much longer than the package says, but the wrap part will eventually start to tear away from the rest of it. It can also be very stiff if frozen to very cold temperatures (my freezer is 0 F or less), but still a great product overall.

I love the heat wraps and was excited to see the cold wraps. I tried to use on my knee (after you keep it in the freezer, I thought it would just get cold like the heat wraps do). but there are velcro strips and they just fell off (from the cold?). Bad design all around.I wanted something that I could keep in my bag for a "on the go" situation like I do with the heat wraps. I already had home ice packs in the freezer, so this did no good and then it didn't even work.

You can use either the hot packs or the cold packs for the back. This brand is the only one I know of that is a cold pack.

The cold part works fine but the velcro straps are not as good as previous version.

I used this several years ago and I liked it, so I decided to buy it again. I was disappointed because the materials were only half filled and there was yellowish discoloration on the wrap. Maybe I received an old item or something.. I wouldn't purchase this again.
