BAR Plus 64GB - 300MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive Titan Gray (MUF-64BE4/AM)

Bought three of these Samsung BAR plus in 64GB, two for key chain use, one to have handy on my desk. Made sure Amazon was the seller to help avoid any risk of non-genuine Samsung parts. Just arrived and burned each one in briefly using CrystalDiskMark, so I could both be sure each worked and compare speeds between the units. All three tested within about 2% of each other on each benchmark. Importantly, the sequential read speeds exceeded the claimed 200 MB/s in each case, averaging 224 MB/s. Writes were all 34MB/s. All tests were conducted on my laptop, a Lenovo Flex5, on a USB 3.0 port. Clearly the sequential read speeds take advantage of USB3.0 bandwidth. Overall very pleased for the price and the key chain friendly stainless steel casing. Note I did put a cover on the USB end of each, using the covers from Honbay 40pcs Semitransparent Black and Clear Plastic USB Male Anti-Dust Plug Stopper Cap Cover . I wanted just a bit more protection when used on key chains from dents and the elements. These Honbay covers fit snugly yet come off relatively easily. These feel like TPR, which is good for grip and flexibility. Pros +Fairly fast overall for the price, and clearly very fast at sequential reads. +Good looking, tough stainless steel body +Great form factor for handling - only as wide as a USB port so they won't cause any interference with adjacent ports, a bit longer than the really small USB drives designed to stay mounted all the time, but therefore very easy to get in and out, especially with the raised end near the lanyard hole providing a nice grip. +Hangs just fine on my key chain, a Maxpedition Gear Keyper Maxpedition Gear Keyper, Foliage Green using a FREEkey ring, the absolutely most secure rings you can buy in my experience FREEkey Accessory Ring Spares, 10 Count Cons -wish for faster write speeds -gets warm but not so hot as to be a concern so far No data yet on reliability, will updated if I find any issues. Works great for persistent OS installs! Solid physical case full metal very nice. Expected speeds are met and if not exceeded in some situations. Very easy to use and mount and has great file transfer at boot, the metal hook for the key chain makes it very portable and the size is minimal the way it is sized to the usb sleeve.

These drives are very fast and work well. I bought some cheaper flash drives with lower specifications. These wrote at an average of 30 MB/s while the cheaper ones were 4 or below, and often less than 1 MB/s. The case seems very solid, and feels like metal although it may not be. I bought the 64 GB capacity. Highly recommended.

Probably good enough for the price and for most people. If you are transferring 10-20+ gb and up it will take an hour or more to transfer. I hate waiting that long but it was the most affordable option at the time, so basically, most of it's value comes from the price for storage capacity and durability. Speed is definitely the biggest con, but everything else is fine. If you're not frequently transferring such large files it won't feel annoying to use. It does get a little warm to be honest (not hot but warm) and that slows down the transfer speed a bit. If you have more money spend your money on something more capable, but if you're on a budget, it's good enough.

I was looking for a flashdrive to use for installing Win10 from as I often rebuild computers for friends and family. DVD's seem so antiquated now but also many computers no longer have optical drives and the USB DVD drives feel even slower than the ones that were built in to computers. I was amazed how fast not only the windows installer tool loaded the nearly 5GB of microsoft windows data onto this Samsung BAR flash drive but also how quickly windows installed on a nearly 4 year old Dell Inspiron 3000 that I installed a new SSD drive into. Even though the drive can be much smaller if using as dedicated windows installation media as I use it for the cost is so low and windows installs so quickly that its a no brainer if you need to rebuild PCs. The only thing that maybe a negative is the form - the metal is cut to have a thicker piece on one side to grip it my. Its looks great but I could see it digging into your thigh if you carry this around in your pocket and a sleeker design maybe appreciated by someone who carries this drive around on them. 2024 update: These still work great, are still quick to load any OS I need when building PC so I just ordered one more because the cost is so low and I have it setup to install ProxMox virtualization platform that I am tinkering with.

Works great and large capacity. Very small, bulky on one side where chip storage resides. If you want to use this to store pictures, or media to display on your Samsung TV then you will have to do the following: If you get an error "No content found" do the following: -- If the flash drive worked on your TV before then simply unplug the TV from the wall for 2 minutes and replug in. -- If it never worked on your TV then the USB drive needs to be reformatted to support the TV. The drive comes formatted with exFAT which is not supported with Samsung TVs a few years old. Plug your drive into you computer and format it with Fat32, or NTFS. Copy your files over and it should work. More info: If a USB device connected to the TV is not recognized, the list of files on the device is corrupted or a file in the list is not played, please connect the USB device to a PC, format the device and check the connection. QLED and SUHD TVs support FAT, exFAT, and NTFS file systems. Full HD TVs support NTFS (Read Only), FAT16 and FAT32. • In QLED and SUHD TVs, after sorting files in the Folder view mode, the TV can display up to 1,000 files per folder. If the USB device contains more than 8,000 files and folders, however, some files and folders might not be accessible. Lo compré para mí TV Xiaomi, que tenía problemas de memoria (dada la baja capacidad que traen). La instalación fue muy sencilla. Una vez formateado debes activar el modo para desarrolladores y meter las aplicaciones en el pen una a una (es fácil y rápido). A partir de ahí mi televisión va como un tiro y he podido volver a reinstalar todas las apps que borre por falta de espacio. Todas las nuevas actualizaciones o apps irán directamente al pendrive. Si tú problema corresponde al mío, esta memoria ha sido la solución.

Ventoy bootable program runs in a second. Reading speed 300 mb writing speed 30-35mb stable. no fluctuations. With out any doubt just go for it.
