Acme Tornado T200 Whistle

I currently am and have been a lifeguard for a couple of years now and this is by far the loudest whistle I have ever used and heard. Don't get me wrong, the Acme Thunderer is very loud and so is the Fox 40 as well as the All Weather Storm Whistle; but this whistle is louder. When I was looking at the Fox 40 and the All Weather Storm Whistle, I was conflicted. The Fox 40 is a great whistle that everyone has and the All Weather Storm Whistle is still pretty good.I did my research on this whistle however and found out that this whistle is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard and is rated at 121 decibels. What does this mean? It's the loudest whistle that I have researched. The Fox 40 was rated at 119 decibels and the All Weather Storm Whistle was rated at 120 decibels so while they are all very loud whistles, the Acme Tornado 2000 is louder. The pitch of the Acme Tornado is also a lot higher than that of the Fox 40. When I use the Acme Tornado, it does hurt my ears a lot more than the Fox 40 when I blow full blast but it does get everyone's attention faster.Pros:-it is the loudest whistle i have ever heard and used-it is bright yellow so you can easily find it at the bottom of the pool or ground-it will get everyone's attention a lot fasterCons:-its slightly bigger than the Fox 40-the higher pitch can hurt your ears

Oh my God, yes, they are indeed loud. I've bought two (so far), to have one on me, and one on my 4 year old whenever we go to a crowded place, so that if he gets lost, we can find each other (while annoying everyone around us /evil grin). Got them in this neon green to quickly find it if misplaced. Will buy again, and again in this great color. Love my acme.

Really loud, but takes a good hard breadth to get it going. Higher pitched that I expected, but it carries well. The folks across the lake could hear it, maybe that’s why soccer refs use them. Actually 3 whistle cavities in one whistle, two up top and a longer cavity (lower freq) on the bottom. Very happy.

I purchased these after reading a review in a magazine. I would not recommend, not as loud as I would like it to be.

Works great for skiing alone. Very loud. Attracts the medical attention I needed.

This is a good alternative to the  Fox 40 Classic Official Referee Whistles  - like when the referee next field over is using the Fox 40. It is loud, distinctive, pea-less, and great colors!

We really like this whistle. It was loud enough to make you turn your head and it was consistent (that is pretty important as well). We ended up buying a 2nd Tornado in yellow from the same seller.
