OSD Audio WP4 Home Theater Speaker Wall Plate 2 Speaker 4-Terminal (White)

Use this on my boat to mount to my speakers on my rear seat so I can disconnect them and pull my seat out without having to wire an underwire good quality and easy to work with

I had several questions prior to purchasing these and had to scour the internet looking for answers (and never did find some), so let me clear up those questions for anyone else. This review is for the WP8 8-terminal wall plate, although may also apply to other sizes as well.> The "Decora style" strap really is the proper size, unlike some that look correct but are actually larger. This means that you can purchase several of these and use them in a multiple gang plate without having to modify the plate to fit. I have speakers run to every room of my house and needed to terminate them all in the living room behind the receiver. I was able to buy a standard 4-gang plate at Lowes. You could also use a different single plate if the plain white is not to your liking.> The positive and negative posts for each pair are exactly 0.75" apart, meaning that you can use them with standard spacing dual banana plugs.> The negative terminals are all on one side of the plate and the positives on the other, but the terminals are removable and can be rearranged. If you want the positive and negative for the left speaker to both be on the left side of the plate, and the right speaker on the right side of the plate you can do this. Keep in mind that doing so will cost you the previously mentioned ability to use dual banana plugs, as the vertical spacing is smaller than 0.75".> You can use banana plugs on both sides of the terminal. Some others make the same claim, but don't mention that it's an either/or proposition, not both at the same time. Pushing in the plug from the front would push out the plug on the rear because the terminals are not deep enough for 2 banana plugs. No problem with that here, you can use banana plugs on the front and rear at the same time. I preferred to use bare wires on the rear only because you don't need the extra convenience of being able to plug and unplug easily like you may in the front.Overall, I am very pleased with this product. The Decora strap itself is made of nice thick plastic and feels very rugged. I don't feel like the plastic is going to crack after plugging and unplugging several times. The terminals are solid brass with a gold flash. Don't believe anyone who says gold improves the audio quality, they're selling you snake oil. What the gold flash does do is simply prevent corrosion of the brass, as any corrosion present would mean a less than ideal electrical contact. The red and black bands are easy enough to see, even in low light. Overall, these filled my needs exactly and were a reasonable price too. I would recommend these plates to anyone looking for a quality product at the right price.

Made a very clean look for my speakers to plug into. Made for banana plugs.

Perfect for my needs! I needed to update my stereo to 5.2.2 for an Atmos enabled theater system. This 7.2 plate worked perfect as I used the center surround ports as the front surround (height) speakers. This fit wonderfully in my existing 2-gang low voltage box with plenary of room to push all the wires inside. If using in a standard 120v box, there may not be enough room for all the wires to be pushed back. I inserted the bare wire into the side slots rather than using banana clips on the backside to save both money and room.

Having wires all over the floor was something I didn't want any more, so I decided to run the wires through the wall. This plate allowed me to have a clean installation for the back four speakers. Both sides are screw type terminals that also accept banana style plugs, which is what I used ( Sewell Deadbolt Banana Plugs with Fast-Lock Technology, 12 Pair (24 Pieces) ).This plate mounted up fine to my retrofit box that I put into the wall. The only slightly annoying thing was that the screw heads had enough paint on them to make it hard to use my cordless drill, having to opt for a thin screwdriver instead.All in all, very nice.

A good product for the price. Works as it shouldMy one complaint is that it is not a true white color like other outlets, switches and covers are.As long as it will be hidden from view it won't be a problem.

Great for tidying up the wires instead of having them come out of a hole in the wall. More connection points can mean some loss in sound quality, for the real audiophile the more direct the wires are the better the sound. For a basic home theater system, the difference isn't going to be noticeable for most and if there's a good quality receiver and speakers the sound is still going to be great.

With what you are paying you would think the product is high quality. The connections where not skimped on and are just as good as those 2 or 3x the price.Product is just as pictured and everything is labeled.Not sure if it was my home's dimensions ( new 2013 development ) for the double wall mounting plates but it didn't fix perfectly. That only cost me an extra 2 minutes of installation time. Not a biggie, as I would buy it again.

Work well and make for a nice finish. Wiring is a bit tight, but manageable. I was only using 16 AWG wire so 14 AWG could prove to be a challenge. However, consodering the density of connections on a single gang plate they really don't have the luxury a space.Ovrrall, they look and work fine when installed!

Looks like good quality build. But I have been having trouble connecting a RCA type subwoofer cable to the back of the wall plate. It has some sort of strange looking f-connector type. But can't seem to find a f-connector to RCA female converter to work with this. Until I find a solution, this product does not suite me. Customer service wasn't able to help at amazon. So, I will have to contact the manufacturer.

The materials used are of good quality. I had to return them for other reasons. Good return policy by Amazon.

Excellent connectors, front and back.Problem for me is that I'm using 12 awg speaker wire in the walls. Also, with four sets of wires coming into the box I had to make sure I lablelled them so that meant extra length within the box. All that made it a little difficult to cram everything into the junction box.Ah, well, it's done now, so now I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

Really great quality!! First of all its almost impossible to get a faceplate that's 7.2 compatible. And if you do, be ready to fork out over $40 for it. This was top quality, just as good as the expensively priced ones in-store, but at a considerably low price. You wont be disappointed buying this!
