I generally don't put new tools into rotation without some testing, but i figured “why not” - I had a three camera crew, worst case another shooter would cover me as i switched back to conventional batteries if this failed.No need for the conventional batteries as my $34 insignia 12000 milliamp power pack from Best Buy managed to power my G7 for the full party using this DC coupler. The power bank still had three bars once the night was over could have gone another 3-4 hours easily...it was awesome having this mounted to my Crane V2 knowing that i would not have to hassle with a battery change.Although the instructions had an option to use the two USB Connectors, it powered on fine using just one. Although having only one connected may be the reason i am having problems with the camera not powering back on if i turned the camera off for any reason.I guess if you want to run this camera for days, you can connect two power banks in parallel.I had to stop short of five stars though, as turning the camera off would create a situation where i had to unplug the usb cable from the power bank, and re plug it back in to get the camera to restart.Other than that, this option seems more “engineered” than some of those 5v to 9v usb step up adapters out there.
