Good read

Doctor Star is another entry into Jeff Lemire’s Black Hammer universe. Although not directly tying into the main story of the previous books this one still feels like it’s part of the same adventure.Doctor Star tells the story of an ageing crime fighter trying to reconcile with his terminally ill son. It explains how he gained his powers and the effect it had on his family. In closing if you enjoyed the other books in the saga you will enjoy this one. While it doesn’t add much to vol 1 & 2 I think it makes the universe feel more realistic. For me Black Hammer is one of the best things I have read and this is another great instalment.

I've just received this book - so have only browsed through the pages, and had a read of the story-line, on the back. I've not previously read any of the Black Hammer stories, but, I'm looking forward to reading this graphic novel. One of the reviews (on the back of this comic book) has written, that, THIS G.N, CAN stand on it's own, as a single story. So, that is how I'm going to treat it, so to speak. Great. Looking forward to starting it! Thanks.

I enjoyed it, fits into the Black Hammer world nicely.

Esse spinn-off é muito bem escrito, no estilo dramalhão do Jeff lemire. Difícil não se envolver no clima da história, ainda que com certeza você ja tenha lido ou visto coisas semelhantes, decisões erradas na vida etc. Mas vale muito a pena, até porque, dificilmente saira no Brasil.

In which I have been offered very good paying Jobs..I Will never leave him for any job..I only work part time and I volunteer as An SO at the local Legion helping others obtain theirBenefits...In my 40 Years of reading comics ..None has drivenMe to tears as the last pages of this book....No Father should buryTheir son....God thank you Mr.Lemire for making me realizeThat I made the correct decision.

It's a short story that could be read as independent, no need know the Black Hammer comics.

Lemires Fundus an Ideen scheint unendlich. Hier nun eine für sich stehende Geschichte aus dem Black-Hammer-Universum, traurig, tragisch, nachdenklich stimmend. Sicher keine originelle Basisidee, aber was er und seine Mitstreiter daraus machen (wie auch bei Descender) - wunderbar. Mit den Zeichnungen von Max Fiumara und Dave Stuarts Farben wunderschön.
